Hello, ok replaced the flame sensor again, the control mod is new [ last month ] still same problem. That leaver only the transformer and the air switch that has not been replaced. Would one of these cause the symptoms I'm having? If not should the whole wiring harness be replaced? Thanx WEB

If you have ignition and you know that the flame sensor is good, it is either a wiring problem or the ignition module.
Note: Ive installed brand new flame sensors that were defective. Took me days to figure it out since id just replaced it.

Heater shuts down after 30 sec. get e05 error code replaced the SFS have same problem .

I had same issue yesterday in the field. The sensor was bad in my case. After replacement of the Stack flu sensor my stack temp was only reading 80 degrees, a clear indication that the board needed to be replaced as well.
Replaced board and the heater fired fine and the stack temp reading was normal, 300 degrees.
To obtain a stack temp, after the heater fires hold down the pool or spa button until the temp appears in the display. It will time out after 10-15 seconds.

I have a Sta Rite 400 btu heater. Replaced the manifold with tall the sensors. Replace the circuit board as well. Heater runs and keeps running just fine. After about an hour the temp in the hot tub...

This is a curious situation. Where is all that heat going if not into the water? If the heater is firing normally, the water temp should be rising much faster, unless the bypass is stuck open. However in that situation the high limits should sense that the water is too hot in the exchanger and shut the heater off. Verify that your gas supply is sufficient, because after running for an hour that heat should show up somewhere. It's possible there may be blockage in the gas supply resulting in a low flame.

Master temp 400 with E05 error message, already replaced stack flue sensor, thermistor, and igniter. Any suggestions?

I have the same exact problem with this unit. Obviously getting gas to the unit, because it runs and pumps out some serious heat for a short time, but then kicks off. Did anyone ever figure this out or did you buy a new heater? :-)

My mastertemp heater has a error 5 reading. Heater starts, then it shuts down after about 10-20 seconds.

This sounds like the flame rectifier (flame sensor) Below is a link to the manual to trace the part and also to get the part number.

Minimax NT 400 TSI Heater problem

I bet that your 15 seconds of flame are more like 7 seconds. The time is very important. If the flame is not recognized after a specific time the valve is shut off. If the flame sensor is GOING bad but still make some rectification then you may get the issue you are having. I would start with the flame sensor and work from there.

Service light on

I just had the same problem resolved, my mastertemp 400 would run up the temp to 82F and then cutoff, the service light flashes and then 50 seconds later the heater would restart and run for 2 minnutesbefore shutting down again and relighting in 50 seconds. Repeating until the temp setting is reached.

I had the pool guy out 3 times until he found a bad thermal regulator valve (kit #77707-0010). Once replaced the heater runs great.

He told me that it's my pool chemestry that is to blame, I had it checked (like I do weekely by me and monthly by the pool supply store) and it perfect??? I'm now questioning what caused the corroson and stop it from coming back?

I hope tis helps.
