There are a few reasons why your water may not be working. The first is that the fresh food side of your fridge is too cold and it has frozen. You can check that by removing the crisper drawer and checking the reservoir behind it. You can thaw the water with a hair dryer on low setting.
The next possibility is that it is your filter. If you have not replaced it in the last year, now would be a good time to consider doing so.
The last and most probable is that the water valve on the back of your fridge has failed, and not letting the water in for the ice maker and water dispenser.
This can be replaced by unplugging the fridge and removing the rear cover. You will see the valve where the water line is connected. There are several variations of this valve and you can click the link below to match up what you have.
Once you have matched the valve up, you can replace the cover and plug the fridge in. One of the biggest reasons that I use the site below is that they have excellent service after the sale including support for installing your part; according woth the right model, CHECK REPLACEMENT HERE.

I had the same problem - I got it out of it by pressing a specific sequence of buttons - maybe holding one or more down when pressing another - Dummy me I didn't write it down. I am having the same problem now. I called Maytag - the local guy said he'd call back. I 'll keep watching here

Hi Urban Woman,
Unfortunately, your dispenser interface board has gone to appliance parts heaven and needs to be replaced. Fortunately it's relatively cheap. If I recall correctly, all you have to do to access the dispenser board is use a small flat screwdriver. There are 2 locking "tabs"/slots on either side and underneath the board (you will barely be able to see it, they're just that small).
Of course you already know that you need to unplug the fridge before doing any repairs so I can skip that part.
Insert your screwdriver into those slots and pry the bottom of the board out. Then grasp it with your hands and remove it completely. There are three wire bundles on it, remove them and re-install them on the new board. Then simply snap the new board into place.
This should take maybe 15 minutes to do... super easy job.

p.s. Here's a link to the service manual, but the removal of the dispenser board is not in it (everything else is, though, so it may come in handy later)
p.s.s. Since you're going to be unplugging the fridge for the repair, you ought to go to Home Depot and pick up one of these to plug it back into. Transient voltage spikes are most likely the cause of all your woes... including the main board that was replaced.

It could be the switch. It also could be the resevoir is frozen behind the crispers. It could be the water valve has a bad coil. It could be a plugged filter if you have one in the line. Was the frig recently extra cold just before the problem? Check the resevoir first.

If the dispensor light switches to cubed or crushed , the panel is good . Remove the ice bin , and hold the light switch in . Press the arm for CRUSHED ice , and if you hear a buzzing or hum , then the auger motor is frozen . Use a hair dryer directly on the " forks " for a while , ocasionally holding switch and activating arm , until the forks move . Lower the freezer temp slightly and reinstall the ice bin .
