Go to the start menu, go to the control panel, and then click on the one labeled "mouse" and go to the "buttons" tab and slow down the double-click speed until it doesnt do it anymore.

When ever i'm playing online Axis and allies (1998 game for pc) and I click begin, It crashes and an error report comes up. It's really annoying, I don't know if anyone could help with this, but if you...

Try finding the executable--the file that actually runs when you double-click the desktop shortcut--and set it to run in compatibility mode. Assuming you have a newer version of Windows than Win98, you'll need to do this, by doing the following:
  1. Right-click on your desktop shortcut, then click 'Open File Location' (in Vista it will probably be the 2nd option from the top of the list)
  2. Windows will find and open the folder containing the actual file that runs when you want to play the game, highlight that file for you as well. Don't click anywhere else, you're focusing in on the actual program, so do the next step.
  3. Right-click on that executable, then click 'Properties' at the bottom of this list.
  4. Another window with the Properties of the game's executable will pop up. Click on the tab labelled 'Compatibility' (it should be the 2nd tab from the left).
  5. Click a check-mark into the very top box, labelled 'Run this program in compatibility mode for:
  6. then select 'Windows 98 / Windows ME' from the pull-down menu just below that.
  7. You should also go ahead and click 'Run this program as Administrator' at the bottom of the same popup window.
  8. Then, click 'OK', and click out of all windows until you're back at your desktop.
  9. Try your program again by double-clicking the same old icon you've always used to get it going before.
See if that helps. If not, it might help you to uninstall your game altogether and then reinstall it in a similar fashion, by finding the 'executable' that actually installs it within its installation CD (instead of letting it auto-start, click out of that and Explore the CD), and doing the exact same thing (setting all installer files to run in 'compatibility mode' for the older Windows 98 OS).
At the end of the installation, you may still have to perform the same procedure in the bullets above to ensure that all files installed are running compatibility mode themselves.
It's sometimes tedious, but there are countless older games, programs, and drivers you can get to run this way.

Hotmail.comHello, I would like to be able to find the temperary files and folders that go into my computer automaticly when I browse online. My computer is running very slow and I want it speeded up so if...

hi June here is how you clear the temp file folder on your pc please do this as i say do not take short cuts as you will not get to the correct temp folder.. go to my computer then double click C drive then double click documents and settings then double click on the folder that has the name of your computer on it then double click local settings then double click temporary internet files then in top left corner click edit then click select all then next to edit click file then click on delete then you will have all the internet temp files deleted, i also would suggest getting a very good program called CCleaner this will remove all the junk built up in the registry which is actually the thing that slows pc's down allot, i use it myself and i have found it to be the very best of any pc cleaner about as it does not delete important files from your pc that you do not know what they are about like some other pc cleaners, you can download it from this trusted site
hope this helps please rate and vote thanks

Gateway laptop running Vista suddenly developed an issue with the mouse pad.... double click doesn't respond. However the touch pad works to move the mouse

Hi there,
I have just had this problem with an Acer laptop running on Vista Home. When I double clicked on the actual pad itself rather than the bottons, it wasn't recognising it at all. Wouldn't scroll down or select a folder etc, just if I double clicked on the actual pad. Everything else worked OK.
I tried the solutions above but they didn't work.
Turns out it's the 'Tapping' function that needs to be enabled. Go to Start > Contol Panel > Hardware > Mouse > Device Settings > Then it says devices: and lists what pad hardware you have (mine is Synaptics Touchpad V7.2.
Under the box are 3 buttons Enable, Disable and Settings, presuming yours is enabled go to Settings > Tapping > Enable Tapping. Hey Presto! :-)

Using Calcomp 6 drawing board in corel draw and signwizard 4.1

I don't know about Signwizard but if Corel Draw is the problem, this might help. Double click on the ruler or...Go to tools and open the Options dialogue box. Click Document then click Guidelines then Rulers. The right panel should show a button the says Edit Scale. Click that. Make a note of what's there before you change anything.
You can calibrate the rulers to real-world distance too.
1. Click Tools Options.

2. In the Toolbox list of categories, double-click Toolbox, and click Zoom, hand tool.

3. Click Calibrate rulers.

4. Place a clear plastic ruler under the on-screen horizontal ruler.

5. Click the up or down arrows on the Horizontal box to match one unit of measurement on the on-screen ruler with one unit of measurement on the actual ruler.

6. Place the ruler beside the on-screen vertical ruler.

7. Click the up or down arrows on the Vertical box to match one unit of measurement on the on-screen ruler with one unit of measurement on the actual ruler.
