Canon has an excellent on-line trouble shooting guide.
http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/contro...

Page 64 of the imageCLASS D880/D860/D861 Basic Guide says the same thing. Unplug for 10 minutes and then plug back in.
also try this Solution:
Press "Additional Functions", press "#", then press the "Right Arrow" button till it says, "Printer", then press "Set" then press the "Right Arrow" button again until it says "Printer Reset" then press "Set" again, the display will ask you "Yes" or "No". Press the "Left" arrow for "Yes", then press "Set". Now, unplug the power cord and wait 5 seconds and plug back in.

    To reset these codes perform the following:
    Remove the front panel and be careful not to bend or break the flexible
    cable connected to the panel and the DC Controller.
    Turn on the copier and short the jumper wires JP3 and JP4 on the dc
    controller pcb with a screwdriver.
    The count ratio indicator on the control panel turns on 'F'. When 'F'
    is turned on stop shorting the jumper wires
    Turn off copier and turn it back on and its then reset.

Unplug the unit for just 1 day, or you can fuse near the powersupply area if you have access into the inside parts.. but first try to unplug the unit for a day to remove the last settings you made..

let me know

System error E000

The problem discription is very long to be shared here, basically what you have to do is reset the copier

E000
The error history indicates any of the following error codes 4 times: E001,
E002, E003.
Action 1) Clear the error.
Execute '#4 PRINTER RESET" under '#7 PRINTER' in service mode to clear
the error.; then, turn back on the power.

It might be a good idea to get a service manual to get a good insite, here is the link for it;

Error Msg E000

E000 is a fixing unit failure...either the thermistor or fixing lamp failed. Not sure about individual part replacement, most likely needs entire unit replaced....then reset the code.
