Download and install CCleaner.
www.ccleaner.com
In tools you can check what programs are starting with windows. If you click on an application and select disable it will not remove the application from start up it will just stop it. Once you finally decide on the applications that you dont need starting with windows you can go back and delete them all together, this will not uninstall the program just remove it from the start up list.
I feel your pain as I sell Acer laptops and one of the services I supply to my customers is to "decrapify" all the bundled rubbish software that comes with a new Acer.
If you don't mind having a read and doing some trial and error work you can download a "decrapify" application from here.
http://www.yorkspace.com/pc-de-crapifier
I think this application/program was originally written to get rid of all the rubbish bundled with new Dell computers, it ptoved so successful the writer extended it to include all new computers.

If you want to turn the whole program off, go to add or remove programs and uninstall it. or you can remove it from startup with start -> run -> msconfig -> startup

you can also disable the program service from starting up from start -> run -> type in services.msc

in the services list look for edata, right click properties, startup type, disabled, and stop the service.

let me know if you require any assistance.

your hand must be touching the touch pad while your typing, best would be to use a external mouse and turn off the touch pad.

or you could put a small piece of paper over the touch pad so it doesn't notice your hand on the pad.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

How to reinstall the acer edata security data management.

To reboot the system click on Start and then on the shutdown menu choose restart or shutdown.
If this error happens with a bluescreen and white writing then you will have to press the power button for about 5 seconds to force it to shutdown.
To reinstall the eData software use the Acer software CD that came with your computer to reinstall it or download it from Acer :
http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_5520.html

Select it from the Empowering Technology and Utilities section.

Good Luck

there is a possibility that the tool was uninstalled or a part of it was removed when you uninstalled a software on your computer. best way to get around this is through system restore. just select a restore point the day before you lost the toolbar for acer

Ok that is just a program that comes with the Acer laptops, it really is Useless and I dont use it on my computer, its part of the acer e management , e recovery, and etc programs that acer made. To fix this you can uninstall it under the ADD/remove programs or if you want to keep it you can then goto the acer website and under support put your model number in and download that particular software again and it might fix itself if there where some type of missing files on that particular software. Secondly if this is a vista machine it could be the software is not compatible and it causes the OS to crash which then comes with that error to the user and never goes away . Hope my answer gets you closer to a solution.
