Question about Janome Memory Craft 9000 Computerized Sewing Machine

5 Answers

Janome 6500 I have a Janome 6500 that was working just fine. The last time I opened the machine the display window wasn't showing anything. The machine made the usual sound as it came on but no display. It will sew but keeps getting jammed and of course I have no idea what setting it is on without the display. Can you help me??

How do I reset the system? I have no idea and I don't have my manual with me. Please help!!

  • sewjo Aug 09, 2008

I figured out the problem myself. On the 6500 there is a tiny dial on the front of the machine. The light was on but the display was not on. I simply turned the dial and the display came on. You should have this info in case someone else asks the same question. Since I solved the problem myself I do not expect to be charged for this service and I never heard how to open the panal. Also, I stated clearly that my machine was a 6500. For some reason I was getting info for another machine. I will use this service in the future if I have other problems.

As I have already stated, I have solved the problem myself. I have a Janome 6500. I am not sure why solutions are being offered for a Janome 9000. I do not expect to pay for the advice I have received. Please see my previous emails.

Hey there just to let you know to go to this link below for the manual for your unit

and yes the lcd contrast control would have been the first thing to be checked on the unit.

To reset the system you have to unplug power cable for 5 minutes, if problem does not disappear , then LCD display may be faulty.

There is a loose connection you have to clear that first by opening the display pannel and fitting it properly in off mode.little bit cleaning is required to stop it from jamming,

You may have a loose connection to the screen, and it may also be that the screen has gone out. Here's a link to another Fixya expert that sells the screens, it has her email address, she may be able to help you fix the problem or get you a new screen. Try contacting her for assistance.

I just received a Janome QC6125. In the display window Test 3 and Test 4 are the only "Test" numbers that show up, any idea what the problem is. PLEASE AND THANK YOU.

Do you have the manual? p.17 shows what should show on the screen.
You may want to consider a maintenance if you don't know what the machine's condition is.

Why won't fix for 'Lo' showing in screen work?

For some reason, your machine thinks that there is something in the way, and by "lo", I'm guessing it is in the bobbin assembly. Try taking out the bobbin and the bobbin case, and see if there is anything that looks bent or scratched or isn't moving correctly. Your machine is sensing something and locking up to prevent further damage. You might want to also use some canned air to blow out any fuzz or loose threads underneath. Some of the newer computerized machines can be really particular, and the slightest bit of fuzz can throw it out of whack.

I have a Janome 5000 and a scan'n sew everything worked fine until I got a new computer with windows vista and now it won't work. Is there anything I can do?

Something that pilots say... "When something goes wrong undo the last thing you did" Vista is silly even childish, everyone hates it... Have your computer reformatted to xp and see how fast your computer becomes.

My crankshaft has froze up

Hi, If you can get the top cover off, spray the whole shaft and moving parts with wd-40, let it sit for a few hours and then try it again. If it still does not move, spray it again and let it sit over night.
It should work. If not, you'll have to take to your local repair shop. But try the WD-40 first.

Under the cover of your machine where the feet are stored, on the right side, front of your machine is a round button which controls the brightness of your display. It was probably moved during cleaning.

SP in display window, no options?

SP means that the bobbin winder has been pushed to the right in preparation for winding the bobbin. Just click the winding post to the left till it clicks, and the stitch number will be displayed.
