Sony car cd player help!

Ive hooked up several cd players in cars but this is just strange. Its looks like ive got everything wired correctly, the only things i didnt wire are the illumination which my deck doesnt have, remote amp , and power antenna which my car doesnt have and i have no power antenna or amplifier. I hooked it up and it worked for about 5 minutes shut off and i havent been able to even get it to turn on anymore. Ive checked my car fuses and cd player fuse which are all fine. WTF?

Need help installing xplod mex bt39uw

You have to invest in separate cables to the booster amplifier. Be careful that you have the proper relays and fuse for these or you might end up losing your car because of fire.

Hello,

Do you have an amp and subwoofer hooked up to the cd player as well ?

Alot of times if your battery is old it won't hold a good charge or possibly the alternator is not able to keep up with the power demand of your car. Some aftermarket cd players can draw alot of power, and if you have an amp and subwoofer, gps, cell chargers etc. hooked up it will only drain power quicker. Which Ive seen make headlights dim and flicker on my friends cars as well as customers cars due to these same issues.

To see if either of these are a possible match, take your car to an autozone and ask them to test your battery and alternator which they will do for free. They will be able to tell you if either of them are faulty.

Let me know if that help's, feel free to comment back with any additional information or question's and I will be happy to assist you further.
Thank you for choosing Fixya,

have to connect wires from cd player (should have diagram with cd player)to applicable speaker wires and also proper ignition and signal wires.

Fitting a sony cd player to punto

your problem is an accessory (red) wire, it needs to be hooked up to a 12 volt alternating current, something that turns on and off with the key, the yellow wire on the other hand needs to be hooked up to something that has constant 12v power.

Xplod cd player reads Err 99 and wont accept cd

I had the same problem.
i fix it by taking out the cd player and pulling the outer case off. when i looked inside and the (in technical terms) metal bracket that holds the white plastic disc (that i guess holds the cds) inside the cd player was bent down. i am assuming that cds were hitting this when i tried to insert them! i just bent it back up using a knife from the outside. i bent it up until the white disc looked level.
good luck

Mounting CD player correctly.

you could try to see if the store that you bought it from has a faceplate or converter to hold it in place

(I have a 94 Buick Century, they don't make the model of cd player standard for that vehicle anymore.)

Installed a cd player into car and now having porblems

It sounds like you have the red or yellow wire hooked up to your illumination or dimmer. check those two first. Yellow is constant 12V and red is accessory (switched) 12V.
