Maytag mdb6000awb dishwasher will not start the washing cycle

Hi my maytag dishwasher will not start the washing cycle. The machine fills with water and i am hable to drain the water also but when it gets to the washin cycle then i ear the electrical relay contact but the motor will not turn and if i leave it on everything will stop ,i beleave because of the thermal protection for the motor.I rotate the motor manualy in both direction to verifie if it is jamed but it is not the case and i understand that the motor turns in one direction when it drains and turn to the opposite direction when it washes. How can i trouble shoout to find the defective part if it is the relay or somewhere in the motor.(the motor type is s62nxjkr-7560).Do i need an electrical diagram and were can i find one. tanqs

Same problem. The dishwasher will fill, then all lights go out. When I restart the dishwasher it will drain; however, it will never enter the wash cycle. 3 months out of warranty. So much for the lonely Maytag repair man!

Well, I fixed it. (It might be too late for the first post - I hope not - but it will hopefully help the next person, SOLUTION: Using a six point star bit, I opened the inside door panel. I carefully removed the inside panel from the door and noticed two rectangular modular connectors that connect on eitherside of the door latch assembly. One of them was loose/disconnected. I reconnected the loose/disconnected modular connector. All is working now. My Model # is MDBTT60AWB. I hope it helps.

WATER ONLY FILLS 1ST TIME ON ANY CYCLE

Hi, After the first cycle, and after it drains/spins, does it start agitating when the next load of water is suppose to be filling?
Please let me know so I can assist you further. Sounds like the pressure hoe from the tub to the water level switch is plugged.

Thanks
Vic

Not cleaning dishes in model # mdb6000awb maytag

One possible solution to your problem could be as follows... Could have been little regular soap or something put in that made it suds up causing it not to drain and reusing the old water to wash. Pouring vegetable oil into the dish washer tub will remove the suds. After running vegetable oil for about 5 minutes, pour 2 cups of vinegar in to the tub and run it on the hottest longest cycle with no dishes in it. This will clean the residue out and what ever "gunk" may be in the internal parts. Use Only powder detergent. No gel and No tabs. These 2 cause a build-up over a period of time of use and reduce the performance of your machine. This should take care of your problem.

Dishwasher filled with water even though cycle was finished.

the same problem accures with some types of washing machines, when you turn on the machine the control switch sends a signal to a valve on the mains water supply inside the back of your machine telling it to open the problem accours if you live in an area that has hard water because lime scale builds up in this valve so when you switch it off the valve is in the open position because of a lime scale build up, i would say it needs an new valve.adrian

My top-loading Maytag starts to fill with water when I turn it on and then completely stops and doesn't do anything more.

it could have a problem with the pressure switch.
the water supposed to trigger the start of the wash cycle and turns off the filling cycle.

it is a single trow switch that disconnect the connection of water filling and connect the wash cycle on.

maybe it is disconnecting the filling cycle but would not connect the wash cycle.

tnx 4 using fixya,
