Possible that the player had hung up due to faulty files. It will be best to connect and scan for virus or improper files, if not remove and reload with valid files that will clear the fault. The processor seems to hang as it detects a malware and so the white screen.
Possible that your phone has hung up because there are errors in the software. So to reset remove the battery and the memory card from the phone. Using your PC , scan the memory card for any corrupt files or media files with virus- it is possible when they are downloaded from unsafe sites. Also the files must be the types accepted by the phone player. If not remove or format the card. Now replace the card and battery and switch on the phone. If the phone hangs up then it is confirmed that the software is corrupt and will need a reinstallation. Seeking help from the authorized service /support centre is most ideal. Take estimate and decide.
I have the same unit, which I think was great value for money, but occasionally it refuses to start up (it hangs at the welcome screen) or doesn't play certain tracks. Whenever it acts up, the solution has been to
reflash/upgrade the firmware.
Make sure that you got all of your songs off of itunes, or that they have been converted through itunes correctly. This is caused by songs being the wrong format, or that the song itself is corrupted. Try restoring the unit through itunes, and loading the songs back on. If you are running with your unit while trying to listen music this can also cause the unit to freeze up when playing a song. Any type of continuous motion can cause your ipod to not play songs. This is because the ipod has a hard drive inside of it, and when you move alot with a hard drive it cant read correctly. If you want to run with your unit, i would suggest getting a flash drive based mp3 player (ie itouch). If you have any further questions feel free to contact www.wiredextreme.com.
If your adding music to the device and its not playing, its because your audio files are not the correct format. This unit only plays MP3 audio or Uncopyrighted Windows Media Audio files. You can test this by connecting the MP3 player, copy one of the sampe audio files under 'My Music' location on your computer and paste it on your mp3 player. It will play the audio fine.
How to play: Hold in play button until red ligh is steady, then press Play again to start the audio.
Make sure you remove any audio file that is not the correct format.
to check format of song:
right click the song, go to properties, under properties it will say 'Type of File', make sure this says MP3, thats the safest way to go.
I also had the same problem last week where my Zen was stuck on one song. I tried resetting it umpteen times, but it always went back to that song. I connected to the computer and went under
the Creative Zen application and had to format my whole Zen. I lost everything I had, but it was unstuck and I just downloaded everything again except that song. No trouble since then. Hope this helps.
