The microphone does not work.

Make sure the mic is plugged in to the purple jack on the back of the machine - also make sure that the mic port is selected for recording - check control panel -> sounds and audio devices -> advanced under "device volume" - this will bring up the Volume Control - select Options -> properties -> recording and make sure that the Select box is checked under the microphone slider.

My microphone is not working.

Check all connections, make sure that the drivers / configurations of said Microphone device are configured correctly, and that if your computer has more than one recording port, that it is set to the one this said Microphone is on. If all this fails, your microphone's likely to be faulty, or your computers jack, try getting a new mic, if not, it could be your computers jack, but that's probably not likely.

I cant record with my microphone

Sometimes you may need to plug the jack into the back of the computer.
It also depends what audio you're using. Digital and analogue don't mesh. I have to keep switching my Realtek between the both.
Or another option may be to update your DirectX.
Or your mic is busted, can you try it on another computer?

Microphone not working

Make sure the device is not muted in the audio properties of whatever software you are running. Most audio programs will allow you disable it.

You should be able to go to Sounds and Audio devices in the control panel to test. Under the voice tab is a button to test hardware. Check there as well.

Hope this helps.
