At some point the 12V system was disconnected and now the radio thinks it has been stolen. If it is a factory-installed unit, the (vehicle) dealer can get the code for you - for a price. To prevent that from happening (again) you can buy a simple (cheap) device that uses a 9V battery plugged into the cigarette lighter, This will keep code-protected items from losing their minds.

Comes up when switched on protection

Protect occurs when 1 or more of your speaker wires is touching somewhere. Power off the receiver, connect speaker wires to receiver and speakers again, power back on, should fix the issue.

Protet mode is a special diagnostic mode that starts when a fault is detected.

When in protection mode the unit is prevented from starting by protection circuit, so to prevent further damage.

Check the speakers and speakers wiring, a contact in speaker wires, or faulty speakers can send the unit in protection.

Try unplugging power cable for one hour or so. then connect cable back and see if you get rid of protect state. Sometimes accumulation of electrostatic charges inside circuit capacitors can kick in protect mode. In that case unplugging the unit from main for some times can get rid of electrostatic charges, and reset circuits by draining power completely.
If that was the problem, you will not get Protect when plugging back power cable.

If you do all the above and still get Protect, then there is a real fault.

In that case the unit may be disassembled and tested to find the fault.

If that is the case I suggest contacting the manufacturer at the number listed on the owners manual, or asking a quote on repair to a local technician.

JVC KD-R610 is stuck in Protect mode

Try disconnecting your battery, reconnecting it, and resetting your stereo. If that doesn't work, the constant power (yellow wire) or ignition wire (red wire) may have come in contact with ground or isn't properly connected. Make sure everything is connected properly and try resetting your stereo. If it is still flashing "protect", the unit needs servicing Contact JVC Customer Care Center at: 800-252-5722.

I have checked all connections to my amp battery, head unit, remote or trigger wire, fuses, power cable, rca leads, ground wire, amp has a green led light on it indicating if it works ok,red if it`s not,light...

Your amp could be in protection mode! Sometimes turning up to high or wires touching will put in protection mode! It will have to be unplugged for a day or two to drain all power out of the memory. Leave accessorie/ignition wire hooked up, just not power and ground wiring. It should reset itself.

My SONY HT-CT 100 Keeps going into "Protector" mode - even though there's plenty of airspace and the room that it's in is at 65 degrees farenheit

Protector mode does not just react to ambient temp. Try unplugging all the speakers from the back of the unit and turning it on. If it continues to go into protect mode, it is most likely a bad power supply or possibly a bad D/A circuit. If it does not go into protection mode when the speakers are disconnected, try hooking up one speaker at a time (while the unit is off) If the unit faults again when you turn it back on, it should point toward a bad speaker or crossed wires.

My Sony receiver is flashing protect mode

Disconnect all speaker wires at the receiver. Then power the unit on, if it stays on, post a comment on this thread and I will help you troubleshoot further. If "Protect" remains on, you need to have your receiver serviced. Hope this helps.
