When the message ‘Formatting’ appears on the screen, release all of the buttons

master code does not work on the nokia s40 mobiles it only work on the symbian mobile s60 so you have to format the your mobile other wise one another option is that take mobile to any local mobile repairing shop they have some device which is use to get the security code
Nokia X3 is a s40 series mobile, it does not support external softwares. So my advise is that if your are so particular about call blacklist then change your phone to any S60 series Nokia handset, Nokia c5 is a good set with all the features and not too costly. Let me know how you go either way....cheers from Narayanan
Your Nokia 5200 is a Symbian S40 not S60 so *#7370# won't apply to you.
Soft Reset: *#7780#, 12345 (Nokia default unless changed by you) and then Yes. (Also works on Nokia S40 phones as a full reset)
So try the 7780 combination and see if that works - if not you will most likely have to go to your network providers shop ( orange, 02 or whoever you have the phone with ) and get them to reset it.
If its just the memory card - if you have the correct memory card reader then you can format that but obviously you may have photos and other stuff on just the memory card - but that memory card will most likely not contain anything to reset your password etc
Power off the phone.
Press and hold Green, * and 3.
Keep them held while Phone is powering on and for a few seconds after that.
It will Format your phone compleatly and bring it back to the Factory
Setting.(But the data which is on memory card will not delete)
