Hello, Jilbere Titanium Tools hair straightener is not operating correctly. When plugged in and turned on, the red light indicating that the straightener is on lights up, however the plates do not heat up. I've had the straightener for 6 months. Thanks, Nicole

On the end there shouldbe a vent which houses the fan you should be able to open this by twisting ? Chech to see if there is hair/fluff/dust blocking this if it's not able to move the motor won't have anything to keep it cooled resulting in smelling burning as the caught up hair fluff and dust burn hope this helps :-)

If you know anything about electronics you could probably fix it. Those kinds of devices have a fusable link in series with the heater and when they exceed their rated temperature then open up to keep things from starting a fire. Typically you can purchase them at a place like Radio Shack if you can determine the temperature and current rating. Good luck.

The main types of hair irons are;

I recommend to get a better hair straightener, I bought mine at safrons it's the Karmin G3 Salon Pro with ceramic tourmaline plates to avoid hair damages, it heats up really quick and leave my hair soft, shiny and super straight, hope this helps.

IF you take off about a inch of wire from the plug and re-wire it [somtimes with new plug also] make sure to remember the fuse and this should do the trick.

my hair straighteners are meant to heat up to 230' but i am lucky to get them to heat up at 160 and stay on ? please help
