Re: not switching on
Your phone is an n73? Format the phone.
turn phone off.
hold the following keys WHILE its turning back on: (3 + * + green call key)
do not let go until it asks you about your location
phone will gain 44mb back and go back to normal. Phone will respond a
lot faster too, as if it were new. Viruses would be deleted as well as
other junk stuffed inside.
have anything stored on the phone memory that you woudn't want to
delete, such as pictures, videos, or whatever, back it up to your
memory card or computer. The format process deletes all stored memory
on the phone, but not the memory card.

I have nokia n 73 and i too come across this problem quite a times. First of all try switching off the phone and then try reinstalling the application after restarting the phone.
There is nothing wrong with the phone for this issue but what happens is some times the application we download has its certificate expired and when we try to intall the application it says unable to install.
So try downloadng the latest version of the application and if possible from some different site or official site of the application provider. I hope that will solve your problem as it solved mine number of times.
Apparently I had the camera application open when the phone rang. After completing the call the phone did not go back to the camera, but the main screen. I forgot that I was on camera application.
No direct restart method is provided by the manufacturer. The best method for restart is to switch off the telephone(Cover) then remove the battery and re insert it as quickly as you can to prevent the time to get resetted. If the phone is not started automatically, press the switch-on key on the cover and wait for it to start. Good luck!
you can also install applications like appman to be able to restart the phone by the press of a button.
