Dear sir/madam,

When not in use, the system stays in stand-by mode but it is always ready at the flick of a button. It has the common range of buttons for most units - on/off, open/close, tuner, tape, aux, equalizer, bass boost, volume, next, previous, repeat, disc skip, stop/eject, pause, clock. You can set the time you want the unit to play and it will automatically turn off when it reaches the preset time.

Good luck
thanks

My av receiver when i turn on and set it to digital, the result is "NO DATA" but when i set it to direct line 6.1 it work,... please help......

Direct 6.1' is analog so it requires no 'data'. Your digital source and proper selection/assignment of the input to which it is attached will affect the recognition of its data stream. See page 16 of the manual.

Is there an internal battery on the STR-DE345 Sony receiver for the pre-sets? Can it be replaced if there is. Receiver no longer holds pre-sets when there is a power outage.

There is no battery to replace to hold preset channels. The preset channels are held by a charged capacitor to maintain the nominal voltage level to the PLL (phase lock loop) tuner. The capacitor can only hold the charge for a few hours, and then it will slowly discharge - for like a short power outage.

Rcd159a boom box PLL digital radio- plays all the old mp3 cd's with a write speed 16x & under but any newly burnt one with the high speed disks fail

That's not unusual. Slower burning speed results in a deeper burn which is easier for some players to read. Unlike commercial discs which are highly reflective, burned CDs don't bounce as much light back to the laser in the pickup. Too fast a writing speed when burning can make some discs unreadable. This is why some older players can't read burned CDs at all; they were never sensitive enough to begin with. It's always a good idea to keep the write speed low (16x or so) when making CDs that will be played back in a regular CD player or boom box.

This problem is more likely to occur as the CD pickup ages and the laser weakens. If higher-speed burned discs used to play and now are having problems, it's probably time to replace the boombox (or the pickup assembly if you're ambitious). If the higher-speed discs never played, the player just can't deal with them and you'll need to keep the write speed down when burning CDs.

I keep loosing digital signal with both my digital tv's, I have a digital aerial fitted 18 months ago. what is the problem?

This can be due to a few problems.Firstly make sure your aerial is pointing in the right direction as beam aerials attenuate(disregard) signals which are not pointing directly at the aerial.
make sure you are using good quality 75ohm cable i.e rg6 and connections are good and not shorting out.
The length of run of the cable will also affect the signal as will any splitters or joins in the cable.
If you know the signal is good in your area then it will be down to the aerial, cable terminations ,aerial position or a combination of these.
If the signal is poor you can either...Buy a high db gain arial which will amplify the signal and or a masthead preamp which will again boost the signal.
please note that if your aerial is not pointing in the correct direction then any boosting of a bad signal i.e ghosting...will only make it worse.
try starting from aerial direction then connections then a high gain aerial and or booster.

Digital optical output for technics 5.1 surround sound receiver

I went to the HDTV plasma manual. It stated the only way the digital optical audio output would work (from this TV) was to go to the menu, select audio and turn off the TV speakers. Basically, it had nothing to do with the technics receiver.
