- This is the second time I've had this problem with the SD 870 is. The first time it was still under warranty and Cannon fixed it for free. It is about 1 year later now, warranty expired and it happened again. Does anyone have a suggestion for fixing this? - kurtnewcomer

- I have the exact same problem. The lens won't retract and also the camera now won't work.

- The camera still works, but the lens will not retract. I did not drop it and it is still under warranty, but of course I can't find the receipt.
