Question about Microsoft LifeCam VX-6000 (68C-00001) Webcam
I tried to upload me webcam to my computer, but I couldn't that's when I discovered the cd rom that came with it had a crack in it preventing me from uploading the information, can u please help find a solution to my problem? Thank You we just had my computer fixed, cleaned, and lost all memory, so we are starting from scratch with it, when i went to use my webcam i could not find the cd i needed to upload the webcam. A friend mentioned that there may be a way to do it online without the cd. This is my problem firstname.lastname@example.org is my e-mail, thanks, Melissa

The software version on the disk is usually out of date by the time you come to install it and there have been some problems getting Microsoft's own webcams to run under Vista.
Its better to go to the Microsoft website and download the latest version of the software - http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/download/download.aspx?category=ICE
Remeber to download and installthe software first and then plug in the webcam and that should be that!

In no way, shape, or form put a cracked CD in the drive. At the high speeds that CD drives spin, the CD will shatter all inside the drive.
You can check the manufacturer's website for the drivers, there is usually a support link or tab or page that will list drivers. You can also have Windows Update attempt to search the internet and find them. Also try drivers.com and driverguide.com to see if any others have uploaded them there. Good luck.
