I was trying to get out of on demand and the tv froze. I have a small picture in the upper right corner and the "loading" logo in the center. Rest of screen is black.

not real clear what you have: if you have a small picture in upper corner look in menu for PIP and with remote turn it off(picture in picture will do that)

You might have some sort ot virus or even just a simple problem. Lets start with removing the battery for about a minute or more if u like. After that put it back in and try turning your computer on again. If this didn't work make sure your hard drive is properly plugged in and make sure there's no dust in the plug. If that doesn't work pop your recovery discs in your pc and try re-installing windows
Your lens might be dirty.Open the cover of player and identify the lens.Its a little glass eye.Get a clean cotton cloth dipped in methylated spirits gently rub surface of lens. Give some time to dry and replace cover.You should be ok.
Do you have the remote with it? It is the PIP button. When I press that button, I get the small TV picture in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
