My Ryobi pcn 4040 chain saw does not start, there is spark at the plug but I am not sure how strong the spark should be. The fuel line was removed from the tank, not sure if I have mixed them up. Which line should go to the filter?. It appears fuel is getting in the engine as the plug is wet, the compression is over 90 120 but still I cannot get the machine to start. 1 New plug fitted 2 Change the fuel mix 50:1 Any ideas? Thanks

Not too familier with this macne , however it is very important to get the hoses around the correct way, remember that the primer pulls fuel from the carb and dumps it back to the fuel tank, if you have it the other way round it will just flood all the time and will not start, as long as there is a spark at the plug that is good enought as they work off speed of rotation and will get bigger when it starts.

Ryobi are notorious for small fuel lines, check for blockages and kinks in the lines.
Also make sure the oil is high quality and check spark plug gap and air filter.

Ryobi pcn 4040 chainsaw won't start What is the

1st add fuel/oil mix to fuel tank , then top off oil tank with bar oil , place saw down on flat surface , press 'ON" button above trigger handle to ON (its marked on case) then pull out blue choke handle till it clicks and stays out , press primer bulb with thumb 8 to 10 times bulb will become harder to press as it fills carb , push chain brake forward (on) ` place left hand on top of saw and right hand on start cord , hold saw down firmly and pull cord vigorsly several times till it sort of starts (sound) , squeeze trigger in and pull cord once more , saw should take off running , chain wont move ,walk to wood pile then disengage the chain brake and cut wood , if saw fails to start after this procedure then there must be a fault in saw , consult a exp small engine dealer for repairs

New Ryobi petrol c/saw wont start.

If it is brand new, sounds like you should return it for the retailer to have repaired.

2 Cycle Gas Trimmer will not start

it is normal to see air bubbles in line when pumping the bulb. to make sure what the problem is, try starting several times, remove spark plug. if dry, yes no fuel, remove the carb. if wet, place plug on engine block and look for blue spark. no spark means you need new plug, plug cord or ignition module

Ryobi PCN 4040 will not start up

When I was going to college I worked at a tool rental center and learned may tricks about tools. At this rental center chainsaws were seasonal thus sat in the warehouse probably as in your situation. Well one is supposed to store a chainsaw without any fuel and discard any old fuel mix because it will not keep. To easily start a saw that was in storage we would install a new spark plug, add fresh fuel mix and spray carburetor cleaner directly into the carbureter to get it started. Once started fresh fuel would be drawn into the engine from the tank and keep running. If you forgot to drain the old fuel, do it now and use the trick above. For best results, always use a fresh plug. Enjoy

Ryobi pcn 4040 chain saw

I have the same model chainsaw with the same fault. The brake is not releasing when the brake handle is pulled right back. I can only run mine if the brake handle is pulled back to the main handle with a tyrap - defeats the object of the auto-brake completely. Design fault I reckon.
