Try to download and install latest drivers for your sound device, this might help. Not sure which sound device you have? Download this program and it will tell you exactly all details about your PC and provide some direct links to various manufacturers.

My Desktop PC assembled is emitting quite a bit of noise. Whenever an application or a download is started, the cpu usage shoots up and the noise / vibration also increases. What can I do?

I would think the SMPS fan, sounds like it's not keeping your computer cool. CPU fans usually never cause much trouble, but maybe you could look into getting quieter fans.

0xC00D11BA: Cannot play the file

Hi,
Your sound device is in use by another program. Quit other programs that may be using your sound device, and then try to play the file again.
Your sound device is not functioning properly. To troubleshoot the problem, see the Sound Troubleshooter in Windows Help or refer to your sound device's documentation.
You do not have a sound device installed on your computer. Install a sound device, and then try to play the file again.

Thanks
