High pitched squeal thru all spkrs when input to unit from vidieo 1and 2
The sound quality when i play a cd or a dvd is excellent. However, when I switch to the FM radio function there is a high pitched squeal along with the radio. In addition to this, and most frustrating,is when i switch to video one or vidieo 2 to watch HBO,cinemax ,or XM radio thru THRU DIRECT TV,I also get the annoying squeal I have also had all the other dvd/cd ejection/standby problems with this unit when new.Thank god I bought an extended warranty and after being in the shop at least 6 times these problems were corrected
Now it is in a shop again(for over two weeks) and the tech still hasn't found the squeal problem.PLEASE HELP!!!!

"Auto Muting" in the context of FM means the output will be muted if the signal is so weak it would result in mostly noise anyway. Interstation radio noise can be annoying and dangerous at high volumes.
first of all here is a link to the manual....http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/200802/20080220095448484_HT-Z410-XAA.pdf and yes it can be conected thru your comcast but you wil need to buy probably cheapest at wallmart an RF Modulator (Less than 20 dollars) and from your cable box (vidieo out, or to tv) install the cable to the rf mod unit (ant in) and that converts it from coaxial cable to rca (meaning a cord with yellow ,red, white push on connectors) plug the red and white into aux input on surround system (see #3 on manual view on backside of surround unit)and and you got it.It your tv does not have a yellow vidieo connection (which is where the the yellow plug into tv)in the back then add a coaxial splitter after the comcast box so that the 1 coax line goes to tv and the other coax goes to the rf mod then thru RCA cables to the surround sound.you may need to buy xtra cables but they are cheap. hope i helped........you may try asking family or friends for the above equipment i described.the newer tv's dont need it and many people have this stuff layen around...good look
Hi, Yes, tis unit has 2 video inputs at rear so you can connect any other dvd player sound (analog or digital) to get 5.1 channel surround sound from DAV-C770 speakers. Click Sony Support to download user manual copy of DAV-C770 that has more details about connection setup. Hope this info will help you. Thanks.
I have the same problem with the same model, so obviously it's not a single-unit problem. My only solution, since taking it back isn't feasible at this point, is to have a DVD on play-pause so that it's not on standby. Waste of energy, so I don't do it all the time, only when I'm sitting in the room late at night making the high-pitched noise hard to ignore.
