Check the power supply box while plugging in the cord to the computer.
If the fan does not spin up in the power supply, you probably have a
bad power supply.
There should also be a little bulb on the motherboard, if it is not on, then you are not getting any power to the motherboard. Which again is pointing to a bad power supply.
You can also go to HP.COM and search there for the answer. Hopes this helps and if it doesn't then let me know,ok.
