Question about Krups ProAroma 453-71 Coffee Maker

Flashing red light

We were finally able to use our Krups after being in storage for 2 years. No problems using it the first 2-3 times but now when I hit the "on" button, a flashing red light comes on. After about ten minutes, it will start brewing. Also, we had to throw out the filter on the bottom of the water chamber since it was pretty nasty. Do I need to replace it or can I use the Krups without one? Where can I purchase new filters if need be? Thanks!

I've had my Krups 453 for 3 years without incident. After returning from a 2 week vacation, it gives me the flashing red light. I'm testing it out to see if it will brew in about 10 minutes, but nothing so far.

Just found the answer!

The type 453 coffee maker offers a carafe ‘pre-warm’ function.
This feature will heat the carafe for 5-10 minutes before the brewing process begins and is indicated by a flashing red light.
To toggle this feature, push the top-right button in the control panel until the display reads "off".

How-to check a Lamp Ballast board on a Sony KDF-55e2000 TV for proper operation

You cant test them unfortunately. The only reliable way is to swap it out with a known good ballast. They can and do go bad sitting as the capacitors start to dry out from not using them. Sitting is bad for electronics. Buy a ballast from ebay(used known good) and try it. Thats your best bet honestly.

Krups 889 red & green lights alternate flashing and machine will not do anything else. how can I get it out of this mode?

I have the same machine and the spent coffee tray wasn't going in and after cycling with pressing three times then clicking three times all the lights would cycle between red and green and the machine would do nothing. It turned out to be a jammed eject motion of spent coffee. the coffee was pressed in but wouldn't eject into the coffee tray so the flap wouldn't go all the way up making the tray not go in. I took the back of the machine off and used a screw driver to "help the unit up during the cycle". When the machine would screw down and PRESS I'd not do anything but as soon as it would screw up I would lever my screw driver and HELP it up....after two or three attempts it screwed all the way up and ejected the coffee and now it seems fine.

No picture, siren type noise as restarting

My Toshiba dlp 62hm116 was used for 3 months then stored for 2 years, I turned it on yesterday and it makes a loud grinding noise which I think is probably from the exhaust fan area and the picture is black except white at both vertical sides. It worked fine the last time I used it 2 years ago. Any ideas?

It's exactly what the other guys are saying in the problem questions....the red light has suddenly for the 1st time in 2 years, began flashing constantly. Everything is plugged in, and seems to be working...

what red light are you refering to? have you tried running diags? try to run the on board diags first.
There are two methods to start the OBD:
  • Hold the Mute button while powering on the system
  • Choose "Diagnostics" from the F12 one time boot menu
