My barcode scanning set up should be: scan tab scan enter. How can I program it

Hi,The easiest way would be to print out the control code for <tab> <enter> and scan them after you barcode is scanned.
As far as i know its not possible to have two post-emble's and to alternate between the two.
The other and far harder way is to have the text input fields on your program to deliver the correct <tab>, <enter> when you exit the text field.

"Tab" "Enter" "BackTab" Suffix Barecode scanner

hi,try this software, but the complex action you want may not be possible.

It could be better to create a barcode that has these codes.
many readers only let you have 2 post-amble codes, eg code that are automaticlly added after you have scan your bar code. problem with this it will happens every time you scan something, which is not always desirable.

I have got a LS2208 scanner connected by usb. The scanner was manufactured in 2006. When I do a test scan in the OPOS software it works but does not work on notepad or word. Please advise.

Open a dos command window and see what data is inserted there. It should show the barcode and either step to the next line (If Enter is inserted by the scanner). If you are not getting anything in the dos window is it actually a USB scanner ?

Symbol LS2208 I need to scan in a barcode then add a tab then input 1

From the LS2208 Product Reference Guide you should print and scan the following barcodes:
Begin New Rule Adobe page 232 of 342
Send all data that remains Adobe page 246 of 342
Send tab key Adobe page 286 of 342
Send 1 Adobe page 270 of 342
Save Rule Adobe page 232 of 342

That should do it. If you find the scanner sends the 1 too quickly after the tab key you may want to scan Send Pause in between the Send tab key and Send 1 statements.

{TAB} after I scan barcodes??

I just had to do this today... took me a while, but I figured it out. Download the manual from here:

http://www.modul-bio.com/media/Symbol_LS2208_Manual.pdf

Scan the following barcodes in order and it will add a tab to the end of the barcode you scan.

Scan "Scan Options" Pg 13-6
Scan "<Data><Suffix>" Pg 13-7
Scan "Scan Suffix>" Pg 13-5
Scan "7" Pg Appendix D-3
Scan "0" Pg Appendix D-1
Scan "0" Pg Appendix D-1
Scan "9" Pg Appendix D-4
Scan "Enter" Pg 13-8

You should now have a tab at the end of any barcodes you scan. Hope this helps!

What is the bar code for the tab key

Hi paulajoy. I believe I can help, but I'm not sure what you mean. What are you trying to do? Configure your scanner to put a {TAB} keystroke in when scanning? Or are you just looking for the code for a {TAB} keystroke? If you are just looking for a code to identify it, the ones I know of are: ^I for Character, 09 for dec, and 09 for hex. If you're trying to configure your scanner, let me know and I'll be happy to help you find the right barcodes in the manual.

I have a ls2208 symbol scanner that need to scan code 39.... The example below is return when I scan the following information. It seems to be do stange thing with the first 2 charecters. Can you help?...

Hi,
Your scanner is set up for full Ascii mode.
$B = CTRL B
%I = >

Re-program to enable "Code 39" and disable "Code 39 Full Ascii"

In Code 39:
$B = Control key on
%I = Tab

Hope this helps.

Move to next cell in excel

In Excel 2003 Offline help, i see this helpful note:

Change which cell is selected next When you press ENTER to finish working in a cell, Microsoft Excel moves you to an adjacent cell or leaves you in the current cell.
  1. On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Edit tab.
  2. To move to an adjacent cell, select the Move selection after Enter check box, and then select a direction in the Direction box. To stay in the current cell, clear the check box
for our Symbol scanner we are using this apparently is not working, but it might for you!
