Okay i need to no what router you are using and what internet you have..

if you have a pass word on your router and no how to access the configuration settings on your router and had no success then look on the back of the router for a restart button.. then log in to your routers configuration and set it up again.. now if you only have a laptop and router you will need to use a network cable to access the configuration.. or if you have another PC connected to it..

look in the book with the router..
if your not sure give me details on what model the router is
and if your running other computers off it
and if your using DSL or ADSL internet.

networking is a pain sometimes

i have a router with 2 PC's and one wireless laptop..

ask me for more help if it doesn't help thank you

Does it recognize your wireless network?
I your wireless switched on on the laptop, most laptop have a separate small switch to swicth on/off the wireless option, indicated by a small antenna with some waves.
Does it recognise any wireless network at all?
Try connect to a hotspot or unsecured network to see if that works. Double check all settings for your own network in your router and your laptop. 1 typo in a security password can be enough to be unable to connect.

My IBM thinkpad R52 couldn't enable the wireless facility.. can i do it in my lap or is it not possible?

Hello
The Model R52 has the wireless connectivity option, there are two possibllities
1. you may not install the wireless LAN drivers or you doesnt configure it 2. The wireless LAN gone faulty
figure out these possibilities, or you can install USB wireless LAN to your computer.
Good Luck

Not enough range to pick up free internet

The range on your wireless is maybe half a block. Most people that are getting free Internet are actually stealing it from someone that is paying for it by connecting by wireless. In the same time people have started securing their wireless routers by using security like WEP and WPA which require that your wireless device has the proper key to use the network, even the coffee shops and motels that offer free wireless are starting to use this method. If you have internet at your house and a wireless router and can't connect to it then that is because you don't have to correct key installed or your device isn't on the authorized list of MAC addresses. You will have to contact your provider to resolve that.

Wireless help please!

Make sure that the WLAN adapter is installed properly. Click on the start button then right click My Computer icon, select properties, go to Hardware tab, click Device Manager button, click the + sign beside Network Adapters, check if you have your wireless adapter listed. If your adapter is not listed you need to reinstall the drivers for it.
