I have a 5 year old Dyson DC07 animal vacuum cleaner. I'm having problems with the vacuum strength when cleaning the carpet but not when using an acessory to clean the stairway carpet. Any possible

Hi Ronald,

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC07. If your machine picks up well through the hose, but not through the cleaner head, it's likely that you have a blockage in the cleaner head.

The easiest way to locate and remove any obstructions is to follow the steps shown in our online support guide:

http://www.dyson.com/support/help.asp?article=4&product=DC07-ANIMAL_US

It's also a good idea to give the filter a wash - in normal use, this should be done at least once every 3-6 months, as shown in the video below. Use cold water without detergent, and allow at least 12 hours for it to dry completely before replacing it.

This should resolve your issue, but if you have any further questions, please get in touch with us directly on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US).

Kind regards,

Jack

Currently I was using my dyson dc07 and suddenly it stopped working. I checked and it was plugged in, I checked and cleaned the dust container but it continues not working, could you please help me

Hi there, Sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC07. Like most Dyson cleaners, your DC07 is equipped with a safety device which shuts off the cleaner if it starts to overheat. This is often due to a blockage, or because the filter needs a wash. The easiest way to check for and remove any blockages is to follow the steps shown in our online guide: http://www.dyson.com/support/help.asp?article=4&product=DC07-SY-HEPA_US The filter should be washed in cold water without any detergent, at least once every 3-6 months. Always ensure it's totally dry before replacing it - this may take up to 12 hours. By clearing any obstructions and washing the filter, you should be able to resolve your issue without further assistance. However, if you've followed these steps and are still concerned, it's probably best if you get in touch with us directly. You can call us free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US). One of our experts will be happy to run through some troubleshooting over the phone with you and recommend the best course of action. Kind regards, Jack Dyson Online Customer Support

Keeps shutting off

You cant clean the HEPA filter.. only the blue washable pre filter.

Sounds like the motor is dead or atleast on its way out.

If you visit http://www.sparesaver.com/help-and-support/dyson-section/dyson-technical-advice-450/ they have alot of info on repairing dyson cleaners AND they sell the parts, cheapest ive seen online.

Hope that helps

My dco7 keeps overheating and switching itself off...Any ideas wot could be causing this??

Yes. There's a blockage somewhere which is restricting the airflow. Follow instructions in the User Manual (you can download one from the Dyson website if necessary) for clearing blockages. Also make sure the washable filter is clean (and don't put it back until it's completely dry - at least 24 hours in a warm place). Good luck!

Dyson working one moment then it completely cuts out

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0cm 5.4pt 0cm 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0cm; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} Most Dyson cleaners have a thermal cut-out to protect the motor from overheating in the event of a restriction to the airflow. So, if anything causes it to overheat, it will switch off. If this happens, leave the cleaner switched off for at least two hours, as it will not start again until it has cooled down.
The most common cause of a cut-out is that the cleaner has a blockage or the filter needs washing. A high room temperature may also trigger it. Before you continue vacuuming, ensure the filter is clean and there are no blockages. You can download the user guide at www.dyson.co.uk/support/. Just click on ‘Get Expert Help’ then ‘Using my Dyson product’ then ‘User Guide’.
