the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

Haven't used our TV in six mos. It turned on OK but five minutes later turned off; but five minutes later turned on again but then turns off five minutes later. What to do? New TV or let it warm up?

Check all the connections of the flat cables inside the TV. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; visit the site linked here. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

Tv turns on and off i can hear it come on and see a flash of light but five seconds later it shuts back off.

You have two bad capacitors...a 25volt 2200Mf 125 degrees and a 35volt 1200Mf 125 degrees. I think the degrees are correct..be sure to check this out. It will be on the cap itself...been a while since I repaired one of these. Locations I beleive are C2074 and C2081. Good Luck and reply with your rating!
