How to set up my X4270 Lexmark Fax/scanner/copier.
Problem for Lexmark X4270 All-In-One InkJet Printer
Error 1068 on vista print spooler stopped
While trying to install a windows xp version of a lexmark x4270 on to a vista and download the drivers for vista my printer spooler stopped and will not restart. I've done a reboot, deleted printer drivers and reinstalled them. Went to services and pressed start spooler, nothing. Help!

- I have same problem as Warren124. I think it is safe to say that the printer WAS NOT compatible for me in this instance. I have downloaded regfix and this has not helped. I cannot start the spooler and get a 1068 error when I do. I am running vista. Any guidance would be great as I am totally stuck to do my homebased work. Cheers - GuestSep 05, 2008
- I have a X2250 Lexmark, also when trying to install it stops saying the spooler service has stopped and everything goes bad from there. It is Vista 32 with latest updates. Please follow the below given steps to remove the dependencies.
1.Click start icon.
2.Click on All Programs.
3.Click on Accessories.
4.Click Run.
5.Type cmd and hit enter.
To remove this dependency all you have to do is open the command prompt and type in the following command:
Please type Sc*config*spooler*depend=*rpcss (put spaces where the (*)’s are.
When you hit enter you will get this message:
Sc config spooler depend= rpcss [SC] ChangeServiceConfig SUCCESS
Now please restart the computer and try to install the printer.

well..for beginners, did you check for the Vista compatibility with this printer? Also, you MAY need SP1 for Vista, which had a ton of driver updates.
