As far as I know, there is no way to bypass the ROM unlock code request phase. It is a 15-char long code, different from the phone's IMEI code, which came printed in stickers, both attached to the phone's original box, and inside its printed user manual (loose, i.e. not attached). So, unless you find one of those stickers, I'm afraid you will be unable to upgrade your phone's ROM.
Hope you are able to sort your problems out soon.
Anyway, please, let me know if I can help you any further.
Regards,
Carlos
Ok, after searching around I've found what seems to be a workaround, but I have never tested it. So, I can't be responsible for any troubles you might face. Anyway, there's a chinese ROM (don't know whether there's english language included or not) to be downloaded fromhttp://www.mediafire.com/?p2ue8r3hj49sy4... Unpack it and copy all of its contents to the root of a FAT16 formatted SD or MMC card (NON-SDHC!). Then, put your 9502 in bootloader mode, by pressing and holding the left 'OK' and the right '-' (volume down) buttons, and, whilst keeping them pressed, slide the screen up to reveal the hardware keyboard, and breifly press the reset pin with the stylus pen. A white screen with red word will come up. Then, insert the card with those files in your phone and wait for the ROM flashing process to proceed.
Hope it works for you.
