Black screen, black pictures

-   I am in the same boat....brand new camera, Casio EXILIM S770 bouth in Summer of 2007. I am in the Army and left camera at home with wife (not used for 15-months) as I was in Iraq and I come home to the black screen of death. I am at a loss and it does not appear that anyone has a solution for this moderately expensive camera that appears to have **** the bed for no reason....any help would be be great.-   Finn87

-   I was taking pics, the battery ran low so I switched to another, and the lcd screen went blank. It appears to be defective. My camera is approximately 2 years old. I believe there is an need for Sony to address this issue. along with others having similar problems. The camera was used very little and it should last for many years. It was never dropped or abused and now it is useless!!!! I called customer service and they said I was out of luck. I'm not happy with this answer, so I'm wondering what to do with this shiny little paper weight. -   naplesartist

-   I don't know if this is the same problem, the rear screen is black. However when I have the camera lens exposed to brite lite the screen changes to purple, blurry, and flickers. I tried changing batterys but this does't affect the problem.-   mapreston
