Monitor stuck on black, menu buttons not responding

My monitor screen wont turn on basically, the screen was on standbye last night as in i turned the computer off and the screen goes to standbye. I wake thismorning to turn the computer on and the computer works a charm but the screen stays black, the menu bar wont come up however the screen is on with the light blinking, once turned on the light goes constant as if everything is fine however nothing happens. I plugged my girlfriends screen into my computer using only her monitor, my plugs and all and everything works fine :( plz help hehe.

I unplugged everything for 30 minutes and when I plugged it in, the power button still just blinks and the screen is black. It worked fine for a year then all of a sudden, black. I have the 204B.

same here, turned it off at night, and on the morning it refused to start. The button shows that it's on, but i have no picture, only black screen. Unplugging it for 30 minutes didn't help, and i need to know if there are other ways to fix this because i can't afford to buy another monitor.
By the way, it was making a strange high noise for about a week before the problem occured.

It's sort of a solution, but I work in a computer shop and got this screen in yesterday. I looked at it closely and it's actually the backlight that died. I pulled it apart and found that three of the 820uF/20V capacitors had swollen up. If you replace them then you should be fine, but I went for a different approach and took the inverter board from a laptop and put the in the screen and used an external power supply. It's a bit dark but it works fine now.

Unplug the monitor from the power for about 30minutes, this will make it "reset" itself and might solve the problem.
If it helps, next time when you shut down the pc turn off the monitor instead of making it go into standby to avoid future problems.

Have you tried doing a factory reset on the monitor? If the problem persists, then it could be an electronics fault or a stuck button.

try monitor on a different working desktop to see if it works, both on the external and internal video card ports. If screen menu buttons fails to respond, fault is either on menu buttons or you may have a burned out lcd screen, try a different monitor on your desktop pc to check its functionality. Monitor probably needs replacement.( It might not be burned out for you mentioned "no signal" error message appeared on screen, have the screen menu buttons checked)

I am unable to turn the screen off and the Menu button, actually, none of the buttons on the screen works. It constantly shows the Volume in the centre of the screen and I cannot remove it. Please help! ...

If none of the button are working then it could mean that one of the buttons is stuck or there is an issue with the board on the monitor itself.

Unplug the monitor from power and the computer. Make sure none of the buttons are stuck down, plug only power back in to the monitor and see what it shows. Plug it back into the computer and check to see if the problem returns

Your monitor has become unpaired with your camera. Follow the instructions in the manual to pair them again (basically, tell the monitor piece to Add New Camera while you press the Pair button on the camera). The manuals can be downloaded from www.summerinfant.com.

It will be video cable or related.

Responding to prior post,
Fuses have nothing to do with the video proper.
If you have a message on the screen, which says the monitor is basically working or saying the fuses and inverter is working.

That message appears with lack of video, so it can be the cable itself, possibly the video card on the computer.

Monitor black screen

Your first step in troubleshooting this problem is to plug in another monitor to your computer. If you are having the same problem it is related to your computer. If the second monitor works fine then your original monitor is shot.
