We're running Windows XP, Acrobat 6.0 Pro, and an HP Scanjet 4570C scanner. When we try to create a PDF file from scanner, the software does not recognize that the scanner is installed. We are prompted to re-install the HP software. The HP software was re-installed and still the problem occurs. The HP software is HP Photo and Imaging Software version 1.1 for Windows XP.
Is there a trick or tip to getting this scanner to work?
Same deal: can't access the scanner from within Acrobat 6 & Paper Port 9 Office. But I can access the scanner from Photo Shop and a fax program. The problem just showed up with no changes to anything I can recall. I've uninstalled/reinstalle the scanner and scanner software several times along with Acrobat 6. I'm using the work around that several others have figured out: scan with the scanner software and move to the appropreate location. Very strange problem indeed.

- Acrobat 6.0.6 quit working with my HP ScanJet 5P (which uses a SCSI card). It just quit recognizing the scanner but other applications like MS Document Imaging work fine. I un-installed and re-installed Acrobat 6 plus I replaced the scanner with a CanoScan 5600F but no-joy. Acrobat still will not create a PDF with the scanner. I've done everything I can think of except re-install Windows XP Pro.- Guest
