Release for card on right side of computer sticks out and won't go back in

When pressed this button (little 1/2 inch stick) releases a black card (012C). I can press the card back in and it stays, BUT the little stick won't stay in. I've had the computer 2 years and have seen this before. The little stick is in danger of being broken off as I move this around A LOT on the road for work.

Ignition switch won't release key when it is put in park. But when I removed switch and key tumbler, the key tumbler/cylinder releases key. Why won't the key release when it is in park?

Most newer models have a safety feature called
shift interlock. This prevents the key from being turned back
to the lock position if you forget to place the gear selector in park.
Depending on the model,
If it uses a cable, it may be sticking or needs adjusting.
If it uses an electrical solenoid. may be blown fuse or park switch.
Tap, shake, and pull up on the shifter and make sure it's in park.

2008 Highlander Maint Req'd reset proceedure

This is the reset proceedure for a 2008 Highlander with a key-type ignition:

Turn the key ON, do not start the engine.

Look at the odometer, and verify that it displays "TRIP A". If it is on "ODO" or "Trip B", press the black stick next to the odometer to read "TRIP A".

Turn the key OFF.

Press in, and HOLD the black trip meter reset button, hold it IN.
DO not release it.

Turn the key ON, do not start the engine

Observe the Odometer display. You will see 5 dashes, then 4, then 3, then 2, then 1 dash, and finally, 5 zeros. Then, whatever number that was displayed on "TRIP A" will be re-displayed..

Now release the black trip meter reset stick.

This completes the reset procedure, and it will be back on in 5,000 miles, to remind you of you next oil change.

I remember that each caliper is pushed back by "Rollout" after the brakes are pressed. If the caliper is harder to move it my not push back. May have to change O-ring seals on caliper.

Hope this helps.

I can not get the cd to eject. When hitting eject it acts as a pause or play button. This Valor cd player is installed in my SUV. Thank You

If you can power on the unit, and press the eject button still, then this how-to should work for most standard in-dash units. (There is also a tiny black button behind most face-plates on aftermarket stereos that you can press with the end of an opened-out paper clip, should your eject button not work.)

Steps
Method 1

  1. Take a blank/useless CD (such as AOL free trial CD's, you can get them in a plethora of amounts in Best Buy) and place it about 1 inch deep into the slot.
  2. Press the 'Eject' button and gently wiggle the CD around. If this doesn't work, repeat and try to get the blank CD below the the jammed CD, and gently pry the target CD upwards.
  3. Sometimes, unusual amounts of pressure may be on the unit, behind the dash itself. Have a professional or a friend that you trust remove the dash unit and try steps #2 and #3.

Method 2
  1. Get a 1 inch to 2 inch wide putty knife and wrap tape around it with the sticky side of the tape on the outside of the knife. Use a strong tape like Gorilla tape for best results. The knife is typically tappered so that if you wrap the tape tight enough it will not slide off the end
  2. Get a piece of paper and stick it to one side of the knife. Trim with scissors. You now have a thin sticky knife you can slide into the CD player opening.
  3. Insert knife into CD player with sticky side down trying to get it to go on top of the CD that is stuck. Press down gently to get the tape to stick to the CD.
  4. Gently lift up and pull the knife out. Hopefully the CD will come with it. You might try hitting the eject button if it doesn't work the first time...

Method 3
  1. With the heel of your hand, slam it into the front of the CD player.

Method 4
  1. This method worked only after I pressed the eject button which resulted in the CD not ejecting at all or only becoming visible a very little bit - too little to grab with fingers or pliers.
  2. Get a stiff plastic "card" - like a drivers license but a bit thinner. Put double-sided scotch tape on one side of the card, near the edge of one of the two narrow ends of the card.
  3. Get a thin-stemmed flat head screwdriver (short is better).
  4. With the sticky side of the card facing down, stick it into the **** ABOVE the stuck CD. You may have to use the screwdriver to ensure the card goes in above the CD and does not stick to the CD until after you get 1/2 to 3/4 inch of the card in above the CD.
  5. With the card still in there, insert the thin flat screwdriver ON TOP of the card and gently press down on the card. This causes the tape on the bottom side of the card to stick to the top side of the stuck CD.
  6. Remove the screwdriver and then slowly pull the card out. The CD should come with the card.

How to move t-bar of auto trans. from park to neutral on mercedes c 200 1998 without ignition keys where is the override button thanks

If there is a manual release for the shifter it will be on the back side. There may be a small opening with a little spring door on it right behind the shifter bezel. If there is just stick a pencil or a screwdriver in there to push the release tab down. If there is no little hole then you may have to pull off the shift wood trim to access the release tab.

GamePlay:

EA SPORTS PURE SWING SYSTEM:

The Strike zone is divided into nine colored squares. Red squares mark the batter's hot zones. Blue squares are the batter's cold zones. Clear squares are neutral for the batter.

Take unprecedented control at the plate by moving the Control Stick during your swing.

-The results of your swing depend on your timing, the location of the pitch, and the direction you move the Control Stick.
-For the best results, move the Control Stick towards the location of the pitch.
-To hit the ball in the air, move the Control Stick Diagonal Up-Left / Up / Diagonal Up-Right while swinging. This increases the chances of hitting a fly ball, but also increases your chances of missing the ball if the pitch isn't up in the zone.
-To hit the ball on the ground, move the Control Stick Diagonal Left-Down / Down / Diagonal Right-Down while swinging. Keep in mind that high pitches are very difficult to hit on the ground.
-To hit the ball to the left, move the Control Stick Diagonal Left- Down / Left / Diagonal Up-Left while swinging. For the best results, use this when the pitch is coming in on the left side of the plate.
-To hit the ball to the right, move the Control Stick Diagonal Right-Down / Right / Diagonal Up-Right while swinging. For the best results, use this when the pitch is coming in on the right side of the plate.

TO THROW A PITCH:

1. Press and hold the button that corresponds to the pitch you want to throw. The bar inside the pitch meter begins moving.
2. Release the pitch button when the bar reaches the end of the pitch meter. The closer your release point is to the end of the meter, the more effective the pitch is.
3. Press the pitch button again when the bar is within the green accuracy zone near the beginning of the pitch cycle to determine the pitch's accuracy.
-The effect of a bad pitch depends on the type of pitch. For example, ineffective fastballs are slower than normal, and less effective breaking pitches are flatter.
-If a pitcher misses the green accuracy zone by a considerable amount, an indicator (red for hot zone, blue for cold zone, yellow for ball, white for neutral) appears to tip off the batter to the location of the pitch.

PITCH SELECTION

Your pitcher's pitch selection appears on-screen. Not all pitchers have the same arsenal of pitches. A pitcher's four-seam fastball is always assigned to A Button. The remaining pitches are assigned to X, B, Y and R Button (though not all pitchers have five pitches).

FIELDING

-If you power up the throw into the red zone, you throw harder, but less accurately, which could result in an error.
-If you select to throw to either a base or the cut-off man before the ball arrives, the fielder begins his throw immediately upon receiving the ball.

NOTE: The CPU automatically adjusts your defensive alignment based on the situation. However, you can override this by choosing the infield and outfield alignments yourself.

EA SPORTS BIG PLAY CONTROL:

Using the all-new EA SPORTS Big Play Control, you can climb the fence to rob home runs, make spectacular diving catches, slide around tags, and more.

FIELDING:

- To dive or stretch for a ball just out of your reach, move the C Stick Left/Right toward the ball.
-To climb the wall to snag a would-be home run or jump for a ball over your head, move the C Stick Up.
-To make a sliding catch, move the C Stick Down as the ball approaches.

BASERUNNING
Timing is the key to a perfect slide. Use EA SPORTS Big Play Control to create havoc on the base paths.

C Stick:
Up = Head-first slide
Diagonal Up-Left/Up-Right = Head-first slide to the left/right side of the bag
Down = Pop-up slide
Diagonal Down-Right/Down-Left = Hook slide to the right/left side of the bag
Up = Dislodge ball from catcher.

Gear stick stuck!

Are you pressing down on the brake padle when you are trying to get it out of park? If that don't work check the fuses & there may be a relay that's may be related to a safty divice to the stick shift. If you don't press the brake padle the stick shift will not release so if you leave the car running a child could not push in gear. The lock silinoid is at the gear console

Paper jam as red lights are flashing

I had this same problem and fixed it today. I had a paper jam 3 days ago and after opening the back and removing the jammed paper, the red paper light continued to flash no matter what I did. But today, what I did fixed it.
I opened the outside back "door" on the printer. Inside that, there is a black panel with a warning "hot" label on it, and blue "buttons" that you can press to release the roller to un-jam paper that is caught. I carefully un-hooked that black panel and lowered it down just like I did to un-jam the paper. At this point, you will see in the center of this black panel, a small toothpick-like black sensor "stick" for lack of a better word. This "stick" is attached to some kind of rod that connects at the right side of the black panel. I gently moved the rod back and forth...it has about 1/8th of an inch movement left to right. and I re-positioned the black "stick" so that it lined up better with the inside of the printer. Then, I re-attached the black panel into place and shut the outside "back door" on the printer and viola! the red light was off and the green light was on. So I have to believe this whole problem is related to that little black "stick" thing and it must be some kind of sensor. that's all I can guess. By the way, we re-loaded the print driver before this and it didn't do any good. Hope this helps someone! --drw
