Question about Dell Inspiron 9300 PC Notebook

Release for card on right side of computer sticks out and won't go back in

When pressed this button (little 1/2 inch stick) releases a black card (012C). I can press the card back in and it stays, BUT the little stick won't stay in. I've had the computer 2 years and have seen this before. The little stick is in danger of being broken off as I move this around A LOT on the road for work.

This is a silly question but first laptop, where is my cd tray and how do I open it.

1. The cd tray should be on the right-hand side (just on the side) and should have a little button on it or next to it. Press that to release the tray and pull it slightly to fully open it. To close, push the tray back until it gets engaged.

2.From My Computer, right-click on the DVD icon and then click Eject.

Toshiba satellite L300 no display

Could be either display, motherboard or memory problem. To fix try these procedures:
unplug the charger
remove the battery,
press and hold the power button for 30 seconds
release the power button
plug charger and battery and start it
If problem persists, open the memory cover on the back and swap the SODIMM memory sticks, and try. If the same, leave just one memory stick and try again. If not, try the second stick only.

The button on my DVD driver sticks or won't

You can find a new one on Amazon or Ebay for less than $40.00. But if you look very closely at the cd or dvd drive there should be a small hole that a paperclip will go in. Push the paper clip in about 1/2 inch and the drive should release and open. If not a replacement may be necessacery. YOU can actually find a Youtube video to show you how. Very Easy.

Dvd got stucked

Straighten a paper clip and stick it in the little hole next to the release button. Push in about 1/4 inch until it makes a click and the dvd drive door is opened. Laptop does not have to be powered on.

Acer 5310 how to install ram

These are generic instructions which will very likely work for your PC:

Flip the laptop over so that the bottom is up, facing you.
Look for a small, removable cover, usually held in place by one or at the most two screws. Use a jeweler's screwdriver (small phillip's head) to remove these screws, then gently lift up on the edge of the cover to remove it. in some cases, you may need to slide the cover just a little bit toward the hole(s) where the screw(s) came out so that the tabs holding the cover in place come free.
With the cover removed, you should be able to see the RAM stick(s) that you have in place from the factory. They're small, green in color.
To remove them, use your fingernails on both left and right sides of the RAM stick to gently pull back on the little spring clips that hold the RAM down. You're only going to pull them back about a 32nd of an inch or so, just enough to release the tension. The back end of the RAM stick should pop up slightly when both clips have been pulled back.
Take a good look at how the gold pins are seated into the socket, because when you install the new RAM stick, the finished appearance should be the same.
Now, grasp the RAM stick and lift it up just a little bit and pull it out of the socket.
Insert the new RAM stick into the socket, at an angle, roughly 45 degrees and push gently but firmly until it stops and is seated evenly across the width of the stick.
Push down gently on the back of the stick until it locks into place. The little spring clip retainers will click and hold it if you've inserted the chip properly.
The RAM chip should now be resting flat against the botton and you can put your cover back in place, power up and go forward.

Good luck. Jim

Acer One pc notebook black screen?!

That is a problem of BIOS. U need to reset your BIOS.
Acer Aspire One BIOS Recovery
The AA1 has a built-in BIOS recovery routine, making it possible to flash the BIOS even if the system doesn't boot anymore. It's only meant for emergencies and may void your warranty, so use at your own risk.

Follow every step carefully!

First format an USB stick with FAT.

Download the latest BIOS, and put both FLASHIT.EXE and the BIOS file in the root directory of the stick. Rename the BIOS file to ZG5IA32.FD, that's important. Do not remove the USB stick.

Turn the AA1 off, make sure both battery and AC adapter are connected. Press Fn+Esc, keep it pressed and press the power button to turn the AA1 on. Release Fn+Esc after a few seconds, the power button will be blinking. Press the power button once. The AA1 will now initiate the BIOS flash, do not interrupt it under any circumstances. After a while the power button will stop blinking, and the AA1 will reboot shortly after. Wait patiently.

The BIOS has been flashed and all settings reset to default.
