Kenwood no sound

If you have a separate 'power' or sub-woofer amp, check that it still has power and did not blow a fuse. Is there an internal selection inside the unit for enabling the internal amp vs an external amp? Some will disable the internal amp using a setup setting, and just provide low level output that is expected to be amplified by an external amp. If it 'forgot' you might have to set it to use the internal amp again. Or vice-versa, depending.

I just installed a 595c gps on my boat. I used it the first time with no problem. The next time I went out, it would not start up. The power comes on but only 2 symbols show up on the left hand side of...

If you know of someone else that has the same setup on there boat you can slide your unit on there mounting system and see what you get. This will tell you if it is the unit or the transducer. I would check my voltage to make sure you have 12 volts at the end of your power cable. If you do not know of anyone with the same setup you can contact our Customer Group and they will be glad to help you out. There number is 800-633-1468.

When i insert my fujifilm 2gb memory card into model jv100 all i can do is look through my pictures i cannot delete or use anything else ,and a icon comes up in the centre of the screen when i look at my...

A few things but the first that comes to mind is that there is a little slid lock on the upper left side of the memory card. This lock needs to be pushed forward towards the gold contacts to unlock the card. Another problem could be tat the 2gig card is full of pictures and needs to be downloaded to your computer. Once this is done the card will need to be formatted to clean the old pictures off and make the card ready for new pictures. I suspect when you take this card out (2gig) the camera defaults to internal memory and yes everything will work as it should until the internal memory is full of pictures as well

Internal fault

My installer hadn't the foggiest, lots of posts on the internet about this, and no solutions, so here's one I just got to work. Turn off mains to unit. (Note display still shows "INTERNAL FAULT" - this tells us message is maintained by the internal battery.) So, take ST9400C off the mounting plate, and using a small flat blade screwdriver ease out the four clips holding the plastic housing, top/bottom/sides. Now you can see the circuit board, in the middle of which is the lithium cell - ease the copper clip off to take this cell out. Display still says "INTERNAL FAULT" so this tells us a capacitor is maintaining the memory. Noting the large capacitor (blue in my unit) bottom right of the circuit board, short out the wires going to it (by putting your small flat blade screwdriver across both wires). Display no longer shows fault message. Put lithium cell back in, put housing back together, remount unit on backplate, turn on mains supply and unit starts as from new out of the box. Reprogram. Sorted. (I could perhaps have left the capacitor to discharge naturally once the cell was out, but life is too short and I wanted my heating to work.) Hope this helps in the worst UK winter for ages.

Doesn't quite fit into the wall sleeve. Can I remove the outer case of this a/c to get enough room to slide it all the way in?

I assume you have a window type aircon. if you can't slide the main unit into the shell then maybe the hole in the wall needs to be chipped. Although you can remove the outer case, it is not recommended because the internal parts would be exposed to the elements and would shorten the units life.

I hoep this helps.

Philips 765 CDR - twin deck

Remove the 765's casing. If you don't have a star shapped screwdriver use a flat head which sits tight in the screwheads diagonals. Once removed, observe the 765's driver chip which sits behind the recording deck mechanism of the left hand deck. With the power cord disconected carefully remove this chip by gently working a flathead driver between the chip and it's base (the chip is not soldered to it's base but take care not to bend the pins) Once removed, power up the unit for a few seconds making sure that you do not touch the live internal workings. Remove the power cord again and switch the power button on for a few seconds(with no power chord attached) to allow the units capacitors to discharge fully . Gently replace the driver chip. Replace the cover and switch the unit on again. The unit should reboot and the gremlins should be gone.

What is the slide switch on side of a Toshiba Satellite Pro 4600

The slide on/off switch is for your internal wireless card. It must be on if you intend to connect to a wireless network, otherwise you can leave it off to save battery power.

To tell the approximate battery life left on the unit, click on the battery icon next to the clock when you are running on batteries. It will tell you what percentage and the approximate time left of the battery.

Thanks and please take a moment to give this solution a rating of fixya.

Mcd5110 marine radio cd player

Gary, Sounds like channel 1 burnt out then channel 2 on the internal amp of the radio. If you are looking for another Jensen as a replacement they are decent for a lower priced radio. However if you are not operating your boat on salt water you could use a regular car unit. I replaced the radio in our boat with an generic import and I couldn't be happier. I bought something similar to this model here not bad for just over 100 bux add 150 for a LCD and watch TV and dvd's in the boat too! although if your lake house is like mine there are only 2 channels to watch :( Hack
