My hp 2530p locks up when i try to use video on firefox - You tube, BBC sport website and any others. Its done this since i recieved it brand new, any ideas?

Ive got the same problem with my HP 2530p running windows xp. Everytime i try and view a video using firefox or the bbc sport video's it locks up. It works fine using IE.

Ive had the unit for about a year now and its been there ever since i got it. Ive tried the solution posted here and various other bits and pieces but i cant resolve it.

Hi there,

What Web browser are you using? (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Firefox etc.)

If you are using Internet Explorer of Firefox you may want to try to uninstall and reinstall your Adobe Flashplayer.

On your keyboard hold down the windows logo and then press R.

Once the run box comes up type in appwiz.cpl

Uninstall Flashplayer

Go to www.adobe.com and then download the latest version of Flash player (make sure you choose the version for your browser and operating system)

To reset the compaq 2530p bios password

I'm not 100% sure this will work but you might have to take apart the laptop to reSEAT the bios battery. Unplug it from the motherboard then plug it back in. Usually once those pre-windows passwords are locked in they're locked in for good.

Sounds like one or both your RAM memory modules has died. Try taking one out and starting up.

The 666 in the part number indicates a 666 MHz memory stick. In the spec of the HP 2530 P, it needs DDR2 800 Mhz memory. Possible that the memory is not compatible.

I have exactly the same problem, same error message. I first noticed the problem yesterday (September 11). Error message appears when trying to watch live TV through iPlayer. BBC News Channel works OK from BBC News website. Live sports broadcasts work OK through BBC Sport website. I uninstalled and reinstalled Flash Player but it made no difference.

I cant't get bbc iplayer to play programmes: it comes up with: task queue failed at step 0: config empty. ITV player works perfectly but I prefer programmes from BBC. What can I do to solve this...

I have installed with BBC iPlayer on kodi using this https://www.kodivpn.co/bbc-iplayer-kodi/ guide hope it helps.
