Go to Menu
-> Settings
-> Phone Settings
-> Reset Settings
-> if it has any security code Please Enter, otherwise the default code is 0000.

then your phone info and settings are reset to factory default.

if you wont reset data on your memory card just select the format option it will erase all data in your card also

SAMSUNG SGH-J700 UNLOCKING:
1- Power on pone ,, type : *#7465625#
you will identify which code is active , which is inactive
2- Remove battery ,, Put your sim card , not all of it ,, just to prepare it to be full inserted , put your battery back and power on pone ,, you must see " insert sim" not "invalid sim.."
3- type : *2767*3855#
your pone should restart after 1 min ,,
now ,, and before it restart , push your sim card ,,without removing battery
4- your pone should work and accept the sim card ,, but if you check locks you will find that your pone is still Locked
5- now type : *7465685*638*00000000*00000000#
your UNLOCK CODE is 00000000 now ,
6- now , back to Locks table with : *#7465625# ,, and for each active code you can disable it ,,,Here details :
* Disables CP lock : #7465625*27*00000000#
* Disables Network lock : #7465625*638*00000000#
* Disables SIM lock : #7465625*746*00000000#
* Disables SP lock : #7465625*77*00000000#
* Disables Subset lock : #7465625*782*00000000#

How to reformat or what will i do to my cell phone?
when you reformat any memory card in your phone it wipes out all info on it you need to transfer the info to the phone memory 1st, all pictures and music have to go to phone memory then you can reformat sd card and transfer back your info to save on card

It will erase to things you have saved of the phone itself but The stuff on you sd card will be fine, In this case I suggest installing the following free apps to save as many things as possible to you sd card:
some of the Go series of apps: ~ the Go Sms pro which backs up messages on your sd card (and Its customizable :) ) ~ the Go Contacts which backs up contacts on your sd card (and again lots of nice features)

Then the ASTRO file manager app, which lets you look through all your apps but especially nice lets you back up all public (not just market) apps on your phone to your sd card

If the SMS messages are saved on the SIM card it's very easy, use a tool like CHIPDRIVER or , to view the haw SMS data, change the header to mark it as current instead of deleted.

From a mobile phones internal memory, this is a little tricky, there are some techniques you can use, such as service boxes and/or Flasher boxes (e.g. SHU Box). These will do direct memory reads from the phone, but you will need to work out how to interpret the data.

Mobile phones use EEPROM/NAND memory; this is Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory.

Wear Leveling Algorithms are used to extend the life of the memory, this causes issue when reading data directly from the memory chip, as it needs to be re constructed. In many cases it is FAT file system.

How to delete info. from sim card
you want to go to(i have a dummy v3m, may be slightly different) menu, settings, security, now this is where things get goofy.... the passowrd could be all zeros 4,6,or 8. or commonly the last 4 of the phone number. i would recommend choosing erase my contacts, and erase my contect before doing reset phone. do the first 2 and that shoould get rid of all the personal info you dont want someone else getting.

Erased images
I had success with this
1. Do not save any new file to memory card.
2. Connect your card to computer. You should see memory card shown as a drive letter (like H:) in My Computer.
3. Download recovery software, recommended one is this photo recovery software (simply because i was using it and it worked)
4. Install and open the photo recovery program, select your memory drive, and click 'Start' button to start scanning process which will find your deleted photos.
