The water is coming from the freezer when is defrosts. the drain line is in the back wall of the freezer and may be clogged up with ice. clean out the freezer and pour some hot water in the very back of the freezer, this will hopefully unclog the drain. if not, then you have to take the back wall out of the freezer to get directly to the drain line. there should just be a couple screws holding it; it is just an aluminum or plastic panel.

you may have to take the back panel out to see the drain line; it is right below the coils. in some refrigerators you can access the drain line without taking it off.

Maytag bottom freezer refrigerator, leaks from the bottom.

Hi,
As with all electrical, before you touch make sure the power is off! Taje the plug out, and make sure it stays out! Tie a plastic bag around the plug! Now, empty the fridge and freezer, and defrost, you can use hot water bottles and gave the hearing on in te house, be careful using hair dryers, you can warp or crack the plastic inner housing of your fridge or freezer.
Check on you tube or the Internet it Manuel whee the drain hole is! Get a funnel and out boiling water down, just in case there is any ice here. Then with a piece of wire (old cable )prod clean this drain hole. Check the internal plastic of the freezer for cracks or damage, use a torch and your hand. If cracks or damage is visible, you are safer with a bee freezer! Remember water and electrics can be fatal!
Think safe, be safe, remember it could be your child or partner killed just by touching the freezer if the water and ekectrics are causing a short. If there is no damage or cracks then plug in, and jet the freezer freeze, check for Leaks, if you have no leaks then happy days! If you still have leaks.......off to the electrical shops...... But to save shoe leather and time, have a look online, write prices down, see what warranties you are getting. Good luck

Ice on bottom of the freezer

Your drain is blocked causing the ice in the bottom of the freezer.
The drain is located about 7 inches up from the bottom rear of the freezer.
Just below the back freezer panel.
Turn the fridge OFF.
Remove the bottom bins.
Take a hair dryer and thaw the ice in the drain.
Pour 1/4 cup of bleach in the drain line.
Problem solved.

Maytag refrigerator leaks water from the freezer

sounds like you have a clogged defrost drain tube. removing back panel of freezer will give you acess to drain trough, melt away the ice with a hair dryer, youll find a drain hole under there somwhere, pouring boiling water down the drain will clear it pretty quickly( i use a steam machine purchased from the infomercials works awesome, after you clear it and all water drain down tube wrap a piece of solid copper wirearound the heater( black calrod heater right above the drain trough) and stick it in the whole maybe an inch or so. now everythime the heater comes on to defrost it will prevent the hole from freezing over
