The oven burner ignition loop is experiencing a current drop-off which I have isolated to the gas control valve electrical connection. Do I need to change out the gas control valve?

GE XL 44 oven will not come up to temperature. Oven lights but will not heat beyond 250 degrees.

The most probable reason the oven isnt heating very well is because of a weak igniter, since that igniter is weak its having a hard time fully opening the gas valve so the flame is very small and thusly not producing much heat,by replacing the igniter the gas will flow properly and heat to a high tempature.

GE XL44 gas oven

well..that's a gas issue, not an ignitor issue..did you check for the pilot to be active? or is this pilot less?

JGB900 oven won't work. Range top works, broiler works. No glow in oven. Regulator is on.

Your problem is with the oven ignitor. Remove the racks from the oven, remove bottom shelf. Remove the metal plate covering flame spreader. The igniter should now be visible. Turn oven on and watch the glow from the igniter. It will come on but it wouldnt get too bright, so it wouldnt open the gas valve. After changing the ignitor, oven should light.

I had problem with the GE Profile Spectra JGBP90 Gas Kitchen Range try to turn the stoe on , clicking noice but no flame. smell lots of gas. how can I light the pilot light back, where is it?

This range doesn't have a pilot,it has an electronic igniter. If you are smelling gas while trying to light, your igniter is bad and needs to be replaced. Remove the racks from the oven. Remove bottom panel in the oven. Remove the metal plate that covers the flame spreader. The igniter will now be visible. Try turning on the oven again. Take note of how bright the igniter gets. If it stays a orangish color it needs to be replaced. It needs to get to an almost bright white,

The oven doesn't come on-but the self clean and broiler work

Check the electronic starter/pilot ignition on the bottom oven burner. It may be dirty, too far away from the pilot gas or the temp sensor on the pilot light flame may need replacing.

My pilot light wont light and my oven will not come on the gas top burners are fine how do i fix this problem

Later model ovens don't usually have an actual pilot light in the form of a flame. It is usually some type of a spark or heated coil ignition system. It is usually located under the flame spreader and bottom plate in the oven. It is a safety system to keep gas from collecting in your home. You can remove the oven bottom and see the mechanism close by to the gas inlet tube. When you turn the gas on, you should be able to see either a small spark or bright red coil. A replacement can be purchased and installed, but it is probably a job for a technician.

GE Spectra TrueTemp Oven Pilot is Out

REmove bottom panel from stove. shut gas off for at LEAST 5 min. Longer is better. Then placel open flame above gas nozzle, slowly turn to ignite posiiton. After it is lit, wait 30 seconds and turn to on positon.
If by chance this model doens't have a knob for this, then turn gas valve off for 5 min, let fumes evaporate, light flame, place over nozzle, turn gas on.replace bottom oven panel slowly.

Oven will not heat up

The oven ignitor is more than likley your problem. It has to draw a certain amount of amps to open the gas valve all the way. If it is weak it may not be doing it's job. The part number I have for this ignitor is 316030600. It's located under the flame spreader in the oven. One other thing to check is the burner itself. This would be the tube that the flames come out of. Make sure that is is not rotted or plugged. Catriver
