Try to press both the menu button and the input/device button on the
set both in together and hold in for 6 seconds to see if the led will
blink a two digit blink code, then let me know the two didgit code, and
I will try to assist you.

    i did the above
blinks twice rapidly, then pause, then does the same ten times

I have the4 VS-60705 with same problem. I pulled the code. It looks like 22. 2 rapid flash, small pause, 2 more fast. Bigger pause and repeats. Is it suppost to reapet?

And if 22 is correct what do I need to do?

If you look on the center circuit board you will need to locate two Pico fuses they are green and are identified by their numbers F9A04 and F9A05 unsolder one end of those two fuses and see if they are open, No resistance. If they are you will need to replace the STK393-110 Convergence IC and those two picos, and your set will be repaired. I have seen that to be the problem in 95% of that model when blinking the two digit code. You can get the two 5Amp pico fuses and the STK393-110 convergence IC and they provide free instalation instructions. I will also include a picture of what the two pico fuses look like in case you dont know. Heres the link for the parts

    http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/

and here is what the picos look like.

double check the solder on the ICs thats most likely the problem.

Stays on for 2 seconds and switches off

A 2-2 code on that unit means over current shutdown. 95% of the time that code indicates defective convergence output IC's.

My Mitsu WS-65511 will not power on. When power is pressed on tv or on remove solid green light comes on for a moment as if television is going to come on and then it just shuts back off. I have tried...

I have had my WS-65511 fail like this, first at 4 years, second 2 weeks later, then 3rd time yesterday (4/14/2009). In past, the tech replaced a thermal sensor p/n 299P313010A (but Mitsubishi says that part is not for WS-65511 and that it does not have a thermal sensor - go figure). It is a white rectangle with about 30 pins in 2 rows and is soldered onto a board in the TV. List price is about $25.

Mitsubishi will not turn on

If the green light flashes, thats an indication that there is a problem in the sweep power supply or the horizontal drive circuit. Its not a problem a layman or unexperienced person should attempt to repair unless you know about electronic circuits and how they work.
