Question about Toshiba Satellite A135-S2266 Notebook

1 Answer

Intervideo WinDVD I know this is not a new problem: The Intervideo WinDVD software gives me an error like "Create layer failed: lower your screen resolution or color density". Well, I did that and it still doesnt work. I recall it worked before, under Windows Vista, which came with the laptop. I changed the OS to Win XP, because Vista sucked so bad I read "War and Peace" in-between mouse-clicks. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

War and Peace?!?!!? That's it....Microsoft just hit a new low...*sigh* well as far as making your computer work its sounds to me like you need a ram upgrade...also upgrading your video card will help it run faster... i know it sounds costly but take a look on new egg...my personal opinion downgrade back to XP...and if your up for it linux flavors are getting more and more user friendly everyday and require a fraction of the ram required for windows....good luck to you

I want to change my moniter

First you should lower the screen resolution for security or extra precaution purpose or it may so happen that after replacing the monitor - display will not come or will give out of frequency error. Shut down the PC - disconnect the system from power. remove the data cable (generally blue colored plug attached behind the cabinet). Remove the power cable and remove the old monitor. Put the new monitor at proper place - attach the data cable(blue) behind the cabinet from where the previous data cable plug was removed. Give power to the (replaced) monitor. Start the PC. now increase the resolution if required.

I have WinDVD player on my labtop. It won't play

If you Right clik on the desktop, you will open a window, and at the bottom will be "personalize",(assuming you have Vista).Or even XP will do the same, just called different.Look for "Display Settings" and you will find "Screen Resolution" and "Colors". Try different Res's until it looks good to screen size, and lower your "Colors" to >16 bit.

reinstall windvd if that doesn't work than uninstall and go to windows explorer and delete windvd folder that it left behind than reinstall it again fresh. If that does not work you should upgrade.

BLU RAY TROUBLE

From what I have researched, your laptop should have come with software to play Blu ray - such as Intervideo WinDVD BR

The software is not available to the public and only comes with such laptops and blu ray drives.
