Test your PSU or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect/ boot up a computer hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error hope this helps

BIOS signals hardware failure

could be a bad lead or connection

test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions SATA

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure dust free connections and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty

make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty

even something as small as an electrical extension or a faulty fan lead can cause you problems computer needs all of the data and power to travel through every working device and to have an end for a computer to be able work properly

a motherboard and a hard drive any leads between them will fail before your motherboard or your hard drive check all electrical extensions make sure they are securely seated even the cd/dvd drives need to have current go through make sure these devices are working

check the CPU make sure it has thermal paste and dust free secure seating

also check your computer ram modules and cmos battery make sure they are dust free and securely seated some motherboards cmos batteries are soldered in

hope it helps

My motherboard has a different connection than the chassis fan

The connection for the fan in that case connect directly to your power supply, not the motherboard. You can get an adapter that would work, but it would be easiest and best to just plug it into the power supply.

Hi i just got a new asus p6t7 super mother board and its well connected to the computer chassed, but it doen't boot it can go on botbut it doen't shut down

Sounds like you have something loose, more than likely it's your RAM. Try re-seating the RAM and if that doesn't work take all of the sticks out except one. If it still doesn't work, swap it out for one of the other sticks. If one of them is bad it could be causing this. Also ensure that you are giving power to your processor via the 4 or 8 pin connected on your motherboard located close to the processor. This is a common mistake that I see which causes the computer not to boot.
Hopefully this helps, if it doesn't feel free to reply and I will try to help you further.

Sabertooth X58 mother board. New build. I am getting one long beep at boot and noting happens. All the fans and lights on the other board are working. Nothing on the Asus web site addresses one long...

Assuming all your supply voltages are OK and your memory is OK it has to be either the motherboard or processor that is faulty. There is no way of knowing which without substitution.
Take out the memory and remove any boards to be sure and check the supply volts with a meter?
I hope I have been of help but please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.

I7 950 sabertooth asus x58 motherboard i have 3 hdd 1 is sata 3gb the other 2 is 6gb they work fine but sometimes the 6gb both HDD seagate turns off itself??? is the hdd faulty or the motherboard???

Neither, it's supposed to happen: if you don't access them during 15 to 30 minutes (depending on the setting) Windows shuts them down to avoid wearing them unnecessarily. If you want you can disable that from the power and Screen saver options, but it's not recommended.

I transfered my motherboard and other parts into a new box and now it wont turn on??

Hello,

First ensure that all your connections are correct, then you check for the power cord to see if it is properly connected and if on the inside it is connected to the mother board.

Ensure that all ribbons are properly connected and not damaged in any way, also see to it that the power cord is plugged to a power supply that can carry the system.

Take care

M2N MX SE Plus Motherboard

Read the labels for the connectors on the motherboard.

Polarity does not matter for the POWER and RESET buttons.

If the lamps for AC-POWER or HARD-DRIVE-ACTIVITY do not light-up when you expect them, then reverse the connector.

Try the PC SPEAKER connection one way, and then shutdown
the computer, reserve the connection, and start the computer.
If the "beep" at start-up is better, leave it as-is.
If the "beep" does not happen, or is quieter/distorted, reverse the connector.
