SOURCE: my laptop is Dell insprion it is a gift but one

Update the video card driver. If it doesn't fix the issue go to bios and check the line if it can be seen, if it is then try to plug in an external monitor if you can see the line in the external monitor then you got a bad video card if it is not seen then try to run the LCD diagnostic of dell then if you see the line in there. You have a bad LCD if not and you didn't see the line in the external monitor then you'll need to download a newer driver for the video card or find a older version.

You can remove or change the Windows User oradministrator's password. You need access to a computer with Internet access todownload the Hiren's Boot CD and burn it onto a CD. Then insert this CD into the laptop/computer and boot upthe laptop/computer with the Hiren's CD and follow the instructions. There are very useful utilities CD and it a Linux boot CDwhich contains quite a lot of Utility programs including a password removalprogram. Click on one of these links todownload HIREN'S BOOTCD :- http://www.hirensbootcd.net/ http://67.20.82.163/

There is no single master password. You need to call Dell, prove you own the machine, and they will assist you.

Formatted HDD wont install windows 7 ULT disc

It may be that your BIOS is not setup to boot from CD before HDD. To get to the BIOS, look for the message for getting into the BIOS on the first screen after rebooting. There are many versions of the BIOS depending on the computer, but usually its F1, esc, del, F2, F3. It should say which to push on the first screen after rebooting. Look in the BIOS fot boot order, then put CD drive as the first boot order. Then save by either hitting F10, or pressing esc. This will make it so it looks for a boot.ini on the CD before firing up the HDD. Some CDs/DVD's will boot on their own, but usually it will say 'Press any key to boot from CD'. Press that and go from there. I would choose the option to format the drive before it installs, since the way you did it might not of erased it all the way. (Usually a clean formatted HDD will say 'Missing Operating System', not boomgr missing). Try that first then let me know if this worked for you. Also, if you are using an windows 7 upgrade disk, it will not work. Has to be the complete operating system disk for a clean install.

Hi, this sounds like a hard drive problem with a bad sector. You can replace the hard drive your self quite easy. Then it will be another install of your operting system.

I fixed my ps3!! All you need is a friend with a ps3!! Swap the hdd's and boot up your friends ps3, format the hdd, put it back in your ps3 and you may need to format it again.

I tried to fix my friend's PS3 HDD that way in mine...it still gave an error every time he booted up his PS3. At that point I stuck the PS3 HDD in my laptop, booted from a Windows CD and fully formatted it that way...stuck it back in his machine...used it to format....finally got his stuff going. Took a little extra time but no problems since.

Did you format the drive before installing it on your laptop. Some laptop will not detect unformated hard disk. Try to format the hard disk somewhere else and check to see if the laptop detect it after.
