I have a REAL paper jam, the piece of paper is about the size of my thumb "layed out", I got the other two pieces out and pieced things together, so I know what I am looking for. I can't get to it through the paper bail feed or where the paper returns.
I have looked at what I should do to look at the "inside" but can't figure for the life of me which way to attack this black box. Does anybody have any experience looking deeper into the EPSON 1000 ICS to remove a small piece of paper.
Hi, I work on printers for a living. Some times I need to use a thicker card stock like what is the backing for a legal pad and push and wiggle it through the paper path till I can see the jammed paper or push it out. I hope this helps

OK, often when removing a paper jam this can happen:
1) - when pulling the jammed paper out you can leave behind a small piece or loosen up another small piece from a previous jam. This piece can then become the 'new' jam by clogging the jam sensor or switch. Use a small flashlight to look done the previous jammed area to see if this is the case.
2) - when pulling the jammed paper out you can 'mis align' or damage the jam sensor (or switch) so that it always registers a jam. this fix may require a technician or repair shop to fix.
Hi there, My epson printer showed a paper jam light although no paper was visible. I discovered my son had had a paper jammed and ripped the paper out and a tiny piece was jammed inside but was not visible easily. ***NO RESPONSIBILITY ACCEPTED FOR LOSS OR DAMAGE IF YOU USE THIS SOLUTION I USED TO FIX MY PRINTER********* i cut an A4 sized square of cardboard from a cereal packet. I inserted this instead of paper and attempted to use the feed paper button to eject the paper jam. This did not initially work so as i kept pressing the paper feed button i forced the cardboard into the printer in the same direction that the paper feeds whilst printing. The cardboard pushed the tiny piece of paper out. Turn off the printer and then turn back on - you should find the printer now works. I also found it helpful to clean the feed path and to try and keep dust from settling in the printer. If it is in a dusty environment it helps to keep the printer covered when not in use - you can buy plastic covers for this or any large plastic will do but does not look as aesthetically pleasing. Hope this has helped.
I have mine apart right now trying to fix it. I was able to get my paper jam fixed (had the same problem) by putting another piece of paper through when it tried to roll the jammed paper out. Does that help?
When you removed the jammed paper, did the paper come out inone piece, if not did all the pieces that were removed make up the entire sheetof paper? Otherwise there may be still a small piece/s of paper still in the printer, which is causing this error
A paper jamb could be caused by dirty orsticky rollers, also failure to remove all traces of paper from a previouspaper jamb. Check for tiny pieces of at the edges of the rollers, and remove these piecesof paper. Try cleaning the rollers with methylated spirits
When a paper jam occurs during printing for some reason, the printer
beeps, displaying the message <PAPER JAM> in the display. When
a paper jam occurs, remove the jammed paper using the following
procedure, and then resume the job. If the message that indicates the
paper jam does not disappear even after removing the jammed paper
following the procedure, there is a possibility that torn pieces of
paper are still left inside the printer. Inspect each part of the
printer again, and completely remove all pieces of jammed paper.
You have a piece of paper stuck in one of the switches that tells the machine you have a paper jam. One of the worst things to cause these are printing peel off labels as they sometimes peel off while printing and get caught in the mechanim. You have a jam it's just not a full size piece.
