Was the ceramic plate part of the microwave or a plate form the kitchen?

If it wasn't the microwave plate, it should be fine. You should be able to be sure it's all clean and use it as usual.

A microwave oven should of course never be left running unattended, especially when using any paper products.

Paper plates and paper towels can sometimes have small amounts of impurities which can ignite.

This is covered on page 1 in your owner's manual, which can be downloaded here.

Inside the NN-C2003S microwave on the right hand side is a paper like material that has deteriorated (90 mm long and 30mm high) and exposed an opening. Where can I buy a replacement cover or can I use...

It's made of milar from memory. 4 years ago I needed a new one as well as a magnetron and the ceramic tray, and even though I live in Sydney, LCS Electronics in Western Australia were by far the cheapest for the parts. Back then I think the milar was around $8.

Sounds like a blown fuse. Carefully remove the cover, and the fuse in directly behind the power cord on the top. Radioshack sells 15A ceramic replacements.

Panasonic otr microwave model nn-s245bf, ventilating all the time, cannot use as microwave. thanks

I have the same problem. The control board (central processor) has caught fire. It's noticeable when you take the control panel off.

We need a new control board. I'm currently looking for how to get one. It appears to be a common problem.
