Im trying to hook up the panasonic cq-rx100u to my 2000 mitsubishi eclipse gs. i know the wiring for my eclipse but i do not know which wire from the panasonic to hook up to my car.

Your power amp wire (positive (RED) ), should be hooked up directly to your battery....THe ground wire should be anchored to a bolt in your trunk (the short the distance the better), Make sure ground is getting a good bite on metal (no paint etc)....Only thing you should have hooked between your amp and radio is the rcas and your remote wire (blue).
The Panasonic is a standard single-din receiver and should fit your Civic OK. You can probably get a vehicle-specific dash kit which will include the mounting collar and trim ring. Try this site. They will also have the appropriate wiring harness to eliminate the need for cutting or tapping into your vehicle wiring.
