Then the hydrostatic transmission is shot, look around for a new one or a used one. good luck as a new transmission will cost as much as another mower.

Can anyone help? My Cub Cadet LT1045 won't move (foward/backward).

Hi, check that the drive belt, pulleys and shafts are all ok and that they are actually driving the transmission, hopefully you will see the problem. If the transmission is driving ok and the fwd and reverse lever is functioning as you said, the transmission may have failed. Also check the hydro release lever is functioning. Regards Phil.

I have a Honda HRR2165VXA mower that is having issues with the smart drive.

hello, hello, Drive belt replacement for front drive mowers. remove the belt coved on top of deckand clean out grass, turn mower on side where carb is facing up,use a pair of vice grips on side of mower deck so the blade can stop, remove the blade, remove the belt cover and clean out the grass, remove belt from rear and front pulley pulleys. install new belt, put belt cover and blade back on,put front belt cover on, should work,if that is not the problem; wheels will not prepeal the mower, wheels turn only when raised off ground, Check the gears or groves on the inside of the wheel for access wear that is a common problem, check the axle drive gears to make sure turns ok, to check gear box if ok pull mower back wards while drive is engaged,if wheels turn backwards than the trams is bad,all of this is caused by the operator,by not disengaging drive while pulling mower backwards or by holding mower back not allowing to propel self completely, hope this helps, any comments welcome, thank you.

I have a 2000 mtd riding mower. i have replaced three drive belts in the last week. it keeps tearing them apart. i noticed the pully in the middle where the front drive belt connects to the rear drive belt...

You may have a bearing that is locked up, check to see if you can turn all the pulleys freely. If you cannot you may have to replace the one you can't.

When in gear, the brakes won't stop my mower. Also, it's very difficult to shift out of gear once the mower is in gear (forward and reverse).

drive belt is not getting slack on trans pully when pedal is pushed down.check all belt guides on outside of pullys .also check for worn pullys if v in pully is not flat may cause belt to hang up may want to try to adj brake rod that moves pully that slakens belt .hope this helps
