Question about Panasonic NV-HD680 VCR

Error code H01

Hi,
Anyone have a definitive answer as to what exactly the error code H01 means when reported by my Panasonic VCR?

It's been a great machine but has recently died with this report.

Would like some help because the machine features a memory of what's on my entire tape collection!

Thanks

It means no head motor rotation...The full meaning is given as: After Cylinder lock is detected the cylinder does not start rotating again even after tape unloading.
The remedy/ check is given as: Check the cylinder motor drive circuit... sorry no solution but at least you know whats wrong..

You seem to have a K-mech model. If this is the case f04 means that the mechanism locks unloading. The cause being something to do with the loading motor.

Hi F06 appear on screen;cant eject cassette

You have what's called a Panasonic K-Deck machine. That code means the Mechanism locks after unloading the tape. The cause of this could either be the 'carriage' where the tape fits, or the Load Motor. Plenty of free information on line just type "Panasonic K-Deck" into Google.

Panasonic VCR model number NV-HD640B comes up with fault code H01 - what is this and how do I fix it?

You have a Panasonic K Deck Mechanism, you can search for more free info on it via Google. Meanwhile H01 means no drum motor or drive, it's to do with the main VCR head not going around.

I am trying to use a Panasonic AJ-D650, which hasn't been used for about 5 years. Initially the DVCpro tapes wouldn't load but they are now loading correctly. However if I press play or any other command...

most likely problem with the AJ-D650 is deteriorated electrolytic capacitors on the mechanism drive board. when these caps fail, the mechanism will not load completely, if at all. also check for bad capacitors in the signal path from the head drum. first and easiest step is to clean the heads; often a good cleaning will restore operation to a non-playing machine.

Panasonic deck ag dv2000 gives error code f09

Your vcr seems to use the K Mech. F04 Means that the mechanism locks unloading.
The cause of which might be the loading motor timing.
F09 means No serial clock linking IC2004, IC7005 and IC7701.

Where do I get a list of Panasonic DVC Pro Tape Deck Error Codes?

The operators manual has most of the codes; however, there are error codes that can arise that are not listed in the manual.

I personally have encountered this: I was able to get answers fro panasonic online once.... But had trouble getting consistant web support.

Here I uploaded my SD 255 operators manual to my yahoo folder
http://ca.geocities.com/artiedc/SD255man.pdf

the codes are the same as the 230

Will not display picture or eject tape.

most of no signal means dsr 11 or similar machines have dirty heads. When they get dirt sometimes, you can´t play a cassette and the machine turns off (with the cassette in).
I´ve tried several times to reload the cassette and I manage to make it work again.
with the cassette in and the machine off press at the same time power and fast forward.
When in fast forward press play and your head should be starting to be clean (takes 4 o 5 minutes
to get a clean picture). Normally the machine gives a code error like if it was a loading problem but
not nearly related
