All of the toys/food aren't there after i have installed the game. how do i reset it to get them? Also whenever i put a new toy in it's there but the icon doesn't come up until i restart the game, how do i fix this?

If you are getting an error stating A toy on the Portal of Power has a problem, follow these steps to reset your broken toy.

Skylanders SWAP Force

1. With the toy on the Portal, select Pause.
2. Select Skylander.
3. Select Manage.
4. Select Reset. If you are resetting a swappable toy, you must reset both the Top and the Bottom separately.

Skylanders Giants

1. Keep the broken Skylanders toy on the Portal of Power and open the Pause Menu.
2. Return to the Main Menu.
3. Open Settings.
4. Select General.
5. Select Reset Broken Toys.
6. Select Yes when you are asked to reset the Skylanders toy.
7. Repeat Steps 5 and 6.
8. Keep the reset Skylanders toy on the Portal of Power and start a game in Story Mode.

Your Skylanders toy will now work again.

If the screen turns black after returning to the game, try again starting with Step 1.

If the game won't load and you are only seeing an icon on the screen, remove the Skylanders toy from the Portal of Power, put it back on the portal, and try again starting with Step 1.

There are a number of possible reasons your toy may have stopped working. Sometimes it helps to clean the battery compartment with a dry cotton swab or cloth. Rub the gold contacts inside the battery compartment to release any dust or film. You can also use an eraser to 'erase' and clean the contacts. My wife's game had the same problem. Just press the reset button. Once the display goes dark, press and hold the Roll button and keep it down for 20 seconds. This should reset the game for you,

Make sure the system is turned off before inserting the cartridge.

1) Press the Reset – Press and hold the ON button for about 10 seconds
2) Make sure the game is inserted far enough into the system, and that it is pointing in the right direction. You may occasionally need to clean the contacts.

you need to delete the registery for it, i had the same problem, every item i tryed puting in my carying case would disapear and not show up tell i restarted the game, these are the steps:

go to start click Run

type REGEDIT in the run box and hit OK

now you need to find the Catz 5 or Dogz 5 folder and delete it, dont worry your game will still play, you will still have your pets, just all the toys will be reset
