Power adaptor got burned

Use Google the Internet for a power adapter for your model hub.
The old power adapter will have a label which states the voltage and amp this unit delivers.

Power adaptor got burned

Try another power adapter, it may have been damages by a power surge.
The power adapter may just have failed and caused no damage to the hub or the hub failed and caused the power adapter to fail as well.

I misplaced the power adaptor, and found one the fits in, but don't know if has the coorect powers output.. the power adaptor I have for this I rocks IR 4300 is an eblue mainstay with an output of 5.0...

as per irocks page this is the power info for your device:

Power : Self Power : 5V
Adapter : (input)100~240 VAC , (output)5 VDC

you probably may want to check with someone at radioshack if the adapter you found matches above specs

info on your device can be found here

Lost Power Adapter for Unicom Mini-switch/8 8 port

method 1: buy a power adapter that has a switch controlled output voltage - they usually have 3V - 4.5V - 6V - 7.5V - 9V and 12V selectable output. Start with 6V and if its not working unplug, select 9 and try again etc. etc.

method 2: open the case and locate an electrolytic capacitor right near the power plug - the biggest one. Note the voltage (for example it may say: 1000uF/15V) and have in mind that your device MUST work at a LOWER level that this.

you can combine the two methods to be safe...

Connecting campus wide networking to hub

Hi,

Check the following:

Hardware First: Is Vista confirming LAN connection onn that PC, or is it showing disconnected cable?

Is the connection properties showing at least 100Mbps?
Are the RJ45 terminals okay?
Is the driver for the network card recognized by Vista and loaded?

If that is fine, then check the following in the network properties:

1. The IP address you are using
2. The gateway address: it must be the same as the gateway address in the other PCs accessing internet. Run and check
3. The Subnet mask. Use 255.255.255.0
4. HAve you Setup the Nework using the Setup Wizard, including Access INTERNET THROUGH A HUB THROUGH ANOTHER COMPUTER ON MY NETWORK?

Check those things and let us know. Ask for help from your network administrator about correct IP addresses on that LAN

Wont Switch on

Test power in its adapter up to the plug in end of the switch adapter. The power adapters are usually the culprit. If there's power in the wall plug, that leaves you with the switch itself. It's either bad inside or should come on.
