Where is the wireless capability switch for the Inspiron e1505? My Dell is 1.5 years ols and until today has worked fine. Now no connection to network, it says I need to turn the wireless capability switch on and that it is on the side or front or I have to key something in.

Check Control Panel - System - Hardware to see if you have a wireless card listed under Network Adaptor.
Click on it to see if the driver is installed ok.
Does the laptop have a switch or function key to enable the wireless?

Just a couple of questions, then I'll see if I can help. Have you been able to connect wirelessly in the past, and did this just start? Is the wireless card recognized in the device manager? Can you tell me the make and model of the wireless card? Answer these, before you rate me, and I'll get back to you with the answer.

O.k. This is a driver glitch. Uninstall the wireless drivers from the device manager, then reboot. The machine will find the wireless and reinstall the drivers automatically. You may need to adjust the settings, but the wireless should be back up and running. If not, let me know and I'll research to see if there are any updated drivers or patches for an existing problem with this particular device.

Have you tried the trouble shooting section in the device manager? If so, did it give you a possible reason for the yellow ! ?

Problem with dell 1200 inspiron power

please remove all the components like battery , ac adapter , any external device connected to system.
press and hold power button for 10 seconds and release the power button .
try to power on the system with plugging in ac adapter directly in to system .
if system powers on then connect battery after powering off the system.
if it does not powers on then remove memory, wireless card, harddrive and optical drive by following this link.
and try to power on the system after all the componenets are removed.
if you get power light then start fixing all the component again one by one and try to isolate the faulty device.
if there is no power after all the componenets are removed then you will have to replace the system mother board.

Dell Inspiron 1505; Battery does not charge; DC jack is loose..

The loose connection for the AC adapter means the motherboard needs to be replaced or the AC adapter jack on the motherboard needs to be replaced. (With Labor, it is about the same cost to buy a new motherboard as it is to have the old one fixed)

Motherboards are available on EBay for around $100
